Location description from owner

The England region

The West Country is a real Mecca for holiday makers seeking a traditional seaside holiday with spectacular scenery and for those looking for a more action packed experience with wide open beaches and some of the best surfing in the country, the climate is healthy and the summer weather can be superb.

Ilfracombe Harbour

Ilfracombe is a traditional and historic Victorian seaside town on the spectacular North Devon Coast and is extremely popular with holiday makers young and old. The harbour area features a variety of shops and resturaunts, including Damian Hursts, and from here you can book a fishing trip or embark on the Lundy Island voyage. Across the harbour is the imposing Hillsborough cliffs with its nature walk and Iron Age fort

Also nearby is the Capstone hill and the Torrs walk, a fabulous walk along the cliff edge which can take you (if your feeling fit!) to Woolacombe and its beautiful beach.

The busy high-street features many independent retailers and has a old-worldly and friendly feel, and the town also has more nationally recognised shops with Tesco and Lidl nearby.

“Short Break”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2017

The photos really don't do the views justice. If you look down from your window, the sea is directly below you. It was so lovely to sit and have breakfast with breath taking views. The apartment is a 1 minute walk from Ilfracombe Harbour and the town centre, which allowed lovely walks to the Chapel, Victorian Bathing Pools and shops. The apartment is spotless, well equipped and the owners Andy and his Dad were extremely helpful. Parking is on your doorstep, however had we brought our larger estate car we may have struggled as it is very tight. Highly recommend this apartment and we will certainly be visiting again.

“Fantastic Apartment!!”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2017

This is the third New Year that we have spent at 4 Crest Apartment. It is such a special place. We had such a wonderful time here and have already booked next New Year. Andy has thought of everything. The views are absolutely stunning and Ilfracombe Harbour and Shops are minutes away. While we were here we took advantage of the wonderful coastal walks and also drove out to Woolacombe which is only a few miles away. Andy is always so friendly and kind. We are looking to book a few visits throughout the year. I thoroughly recommend Crest Apartment, it's an amazing place! Thanks Andy.

Owner's reply: My absolute pleasure as always, thank you for your comments and your continued custom, I look forward to seeing you all again very soon

“Excellent apartment.......but.”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2016

Taken in isolation I would have given the flat a higher rating but the whole experience has to be rated. As another guest said the entrance and stairs were grubby with a musty smell, not what you would expect a 1st impression to be. Other people might not be bothered by barking dogs but to have 3 in close proximity with one starting at 8 am at breakfast time was not my idea of a relaxing holiday and because of this we went home Tuesday afternoon after returning to the flat only to have a dog barking 2 apartment buildings away. What should have been a nice holiday given the 1st class flat turned in to a disaster. I would recommend the flat so long as people don't mind external noise or were we just unlucky to have picked the wrong week.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm stunned to learn you left early, if only you had contacted me I would have investigated your issue with entrance hall immediately, it is a communal entrance for 4 flats but we try to keep it as clean and respectable as possible. I know one previous review mentioned it, I will definitely check again. As for the dogs barking 2 buildings away .... I'm not sure what I could do about that, some owners do allow pets but our building is strictly no pets allowed, for the comfort of our guests. I'm glad you found the accommodation 1st class. Andy

“Everything I asked for”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2016

It's not always that one gets what she asks for, as simple as that. The stay was great. Ilfracombe is superbly beautiful and my two boys (7,5) and I loved it. The apt. was cosy, clean, welcoming and well equipped with anything we wanted (including milk in the fridge :). Andy and his family were great throughout, with excellent communication from the start, a friendly welcome and there to answer any questions I had. It felt like home - and this is not easy to get with two vibrant boys. The view and sound of seagulls added to the atmosphere and there is no need for a car if you are into exploring rocks and sea pools. We all said we want to stay for a few more days and that we want to come back. RECOMMENDED!

“Excellent Flat - Great Location!”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2016

This was an absolutely perfect stay, Andy was available from the start of the booking right the way through to arrival and no doubt, had we needed, then during the stay too. Stayed for a friends wedding a Tunnels Beach and flat was close enough for a nice stroll to and from the venue. Kitted out with everything you could possibly need and double sofa bed was massive and very easy to set up - don't usually do reviews on here but felt this one deserved praise as such good value, couldn't help recommending it to all the wedding guests as we felt we had done so well in finding this gem - great place Andy, would definitely stay again!

“We had a lovely time!”

“Stunning views and location”

Reviewed 24 Mar 2016

Stayed here for a long weekend and as we walked into the apartment we knew we were going to love it there. It has everything you need with absolutely stunning views, the photos really don't give the full effect of how amazing it is to sit in the lounge with the window open listening to the waves crashing into the rocks outside. There is a full kitchen if you choose to cook ( which we didn't we only used the kettle) but there are so many lovely restaurants and bars around the area we chose to eat out. Appreciated the complimentary tea/ coffee/milk etc when we got there. It is literally a two minute walk to the harbour and bars/ shops of which there are many. We parked the car in the private allocated space and it stayed there for the 3 days so no driving which was a bonus. Lovely friendly owner and family and we will definately visit again.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much Julie for your review, I will review the photos ;-) I look forward to seeing you again soon

“Great Apartment”

We stayed here for a long weekend, Apartment was very clean and tidy, with a great sea view, would most definitely stay here again when next in the area, close to the sea and the shops/pubs but nice and quite, Well done Andy you have got it just right.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your comments, I'm happy everything was great for you and look forward to seeing you again very soon! Andy
