Description

Situated in the historic village of Hunmanby, nestled between the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and the traditional seaside towns of Filey & Scarborough, Lucasland is a unique complex, accommodating up to 18 guests.

The complex is made up of 3 barn conversions which have been sympathetically restored and renovated into 3 self contained cottages. The cottages boast many original features such as beamed ceilings & chalk walls, along with all the comforts of modern living.

All 3 cottages are to be let together and can even be let in conjunction with Denmark House, a detached property just a stones throw away, to provide accommodation for up to 26 people! With or without the addition of Denmark House, Lucasland lends itself ideally to family gatherings & celebrations!

Reached by a private gated entrance and surrounding a communal courtyard in a residential area, each cottage sleeps 6 and is made up of the following;

- 1 x en-suite Double Bedroom

- 1 x Twin Bedroom

- 1 x Double Bedroom

- Family Bathroom

- Open plan Living/Dining/Kitchen Area; The living area is complimented by a flat screen TV with a Sky package including Sky Sports, an iPod docking station & feature fireplace. In the dining area, there is seating for 6 and in the kitchen you will find all the essentials including cooker, fridge, freezer & dishwasher.

One of the cottages has a disabled friendly bedroom with its own disabled wet room facilities. There are three steps up into the communal Pub area.

Throughout the complex there is free WiFi access.

On site, there is also a traditional Pub which is exclusively for guests of Lucasland! The Pub boasts a pool table, dart board (no darts provided) and TV benefiting from BT and Sky Sports, meaning there is something to keep everyone entertained! There are tables in the bar area which will allow all 18 guests to sit and eat together.

The communal Courtyard is also home to an 8 seater Hot Tub - Perfect for sitting back and relaxing in on an evening, although this does need to be closed by 11 pm each evening.

Other Facilities that can be found in the courtyard area are; built in BBQ, garden furniture and a communal laundry room.

“Perfect for friends & family”

We hired Lucasland for the weekend of my 50th Birthday as a group of friends & family aged between 11 and 55. What a fantastic property. Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout and spotlessly clean, the photographs don’t do it justice. The bar area is perfect for gathering in the evenings and the separate cottages give space away from the party! We would definitely book again. There’s a bus stop right outside for local services but we walked 15 minutes to the train station and visited Filey for the day. Highly recommended

Hired all three cottages for a group of landscape photographers on a course. We were very pleased with the facilities and comfort, and it is all beautifully decorated and cosy with everything we needed. Plenty of hot water and heating too. Very happy with the accomodation. We needed the advertised wifi to access photos and it was really flaky, never reached some of the rooms and just disappeared altogether quite a bit of the time which is why I have not given an excellent. (No mobile signal at all for vodafone and some networks in the accomodation or surrounds) We used the private pub area when we needed space for projector and screen and tables for laptops and there is plenty of room (although it's not as cosy as the lovely living rooms). The sizes of rooms in different cottages vary - the kitchen and dining areas in the boat style cottage are a bit smaller than the others although fine for four or five people. Can't speak for the hot tub - on cold drizzly November days we somehow didn't fancy it - but the garden area looked lovely for group get togethers. Plenty of good pubs and local shops in the village within very easy walking distance. I would book this place again but see below. Re other reviewers' comments on deposits, I have been booking accomodation for groups for years, and I would observe that Lucasland is high standard (except the wifi). The owners have quite high expectations of guests too which I guess helps keep it that way, there are more rules and requirements for guests than we have had in other places. We had a great time and got our deposit back no problem, but having read other reviews we were very careful to follow the requirements. I wouldn't be so comfortable taking a group of younger folk or kids, or having a wild weekend there.

“Clean, quiet & relaxing spot - perfect for a group / family catch-up.”

We took all three cottages for a catch-up over a long weekend. All cottages were spotless on arrival, all full equipped and all kept warm over the course of the stay. The hot tub was clean and warm and the pub hooked up with our beer of choice. The village had everything we needed - pubs, supermarket and a chippy and is within walking distance of Filey. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
