Roobarb's Retreat” is a 3 bedroomed holiday cottage near Filey offering stylish and comfortable accommodation in a stunning location. Situated in a purpose built village called "The Bay", set in over one hundred acres of unspoilt meadows, it boasts, fishing lakes, a boathouse, family pub, cafe, a leisure centre with swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym, putting green, bike hire and tennis court and has direct access to the beautiful beach. Roobarb's Retreat holiday cottage is ideal for families or couples who will find the relaxing atmosphere a real tonic. The cooking facilities are excellent but the John Paul Jones Pub and Bayside Café (50m from the cottage) are very convenient and highly recommended for a night or meal out.
Beautifully designed and fitted to a high standard, the holiday cottage comprises of a master bedroom with king size bed, en-suite shower room and flat screen freeview TV, 2nd king size bedroom and 1 twin room, family bathroom; bath with overhead shower, an open plan L shaped lounge with two leather sofas and two easy chairs, dining room with table and chairs for six and fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave, separate hallway leading to downstairs cloak/WC. French doors open onto a furnished patio, surrounded by a large shared garden and landscaped grounds. Travel Cot and High Chair are available for use free of charge.
Named after the owner's eldest dog, Roobarb's Retreat welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs that can remain downstairs in the living area. Please let the owner know you are bringing one or two dogs in the message along with the booking form, as there may be a charge at certain times of the year and for large breeds of dog. Dogs are allowed on the six mile stretch of sand all year but there are seasonal restrictions along the sea front in Filey itself. They must be kept on the lead in the village but can be let off the lead in the meadows when the tide is in and there is no beach access. The meadows are just behind the cottage and there is a delightful walk down to the beach past another lake teaming with wildlife. The John Paul Jones Pub allows dogs, which means you don't need to leave them behind when you go out.
Our guests have complimentary access to the Swimming Pool and Gym (situated about 100m from the cottage) Sauna and Steam room, with many other activities available (for a charge payable at Reception or The Leisure Centre) including: -

The region's events and attractions are waiting for you to enjoy and there is something for the whole family. The traditional, Victorian resort of Filey is 3 miles away by car (or an enjoyable thirty five minute walk along the beach) with shops restaurants, award winning gardens, museum and superb golf course. The larger vibrant resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington flank The Bay and are both only a 10 minute drive up or down the coast. The Bay gives guests easy access for visiting the countless attractions and is perfect for exploring the breathtaking Yorkshire coastline from Scarborough to Flamborough Head and the countryside of the North York Moor and Dalby Forest.

“Fabulous cosy cottage”
Fab cottage in a fab location. Roobarbs retreat has everything you need for a stress free and relaxing holiday even when the weather is not too kind. Loved everything about this cottage and the resort. The walk to the stunning beach is lovely and Filey is literally a few mins drive away. The cottage was clean, tidy and homely, easily sleeps 6 and a dog with the added bonus of ample parking. The cottage is also seconds away from the pub and leisure facilities ... it could not be better located! The owner Zoe was courteous to call us to see if we were ok, advised we could call her if any problems and on arrival had left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. It’s the little magic touches that make for a great holiday break. Would highly recommend staying in this fab cottage and hope to visit again. Ps - our dog Toby the schnauzer absolutely here!! - How do damage deposits work?
In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

- How do I cancel my booking?
Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.
- How do I edit my booking?
You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Zoe (the owner) a message.
If Zoe (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
