Description from owner

Description

Small and cosy newly decorated studio downtown Madrid, located in a typical building from the late nineteenth century. Placed in the heart of Las Letras neighbourhood (also called Cortes or Huertas), it has the privilege of having historical sites just around the corner, e.g. the building where Don Quixote was originally printed; or the Convent of Trinitarias Descalzas, where Miguel de Cervantes (Don Quixote's author) was buried.
Also at walking distance of the main city's attractions, e.g. Sol, Plaza Mayor, Plaza Santa Ana, Gran Vía, Retiro Park, Plaza Cibeles, etc.
For the art lovers it will take just five minutes to walk to Prado Museum, Reina Sofia Art Centre and Thyssen Museum. For those who are planning to travel by train to destinations around Madrid, Atocha Station is just five blocks from our flat.
The neighbourhood is full of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, art and curious shops, locally made and restored art pieces.

Many tourists think that staying in a hotel during holidays is the safest and most comfortable option. But every year, more and more people are renting apartments instead because they found out that it has more advantages. First of all, apartments are usually cheaper than a hotel room. Second, you can feel like at home but without the boredom of everyday life's routine. You can prepare your own meals if you want and even bring some friends to share with them, as if you were at home. You don't need to hang a “Don't disturb” tab on the door. Nobody will enter the place when you are out. There won't be noisy vacuum cleaners around and you won't hear voices on the corridor. Last but not least, you have serious worldwide companies organizing the transaction between you and the property's owner, so your money will be safe, your booking guaranteed and you can read traveller's opinion to double check your decision.

Location description from owner

The Community of Madrid region

Located in the heart of Spain, the country's capital city is vibrant and full of diverse neighborhoods that range from the bustling business center to the hip and trendy Chueca quarter. The 'Golden Triangle of Art' is an area within the city's center that houses three famed museums: Museo del Prado, Museo National Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, and the Museo Thyseen-Bornemisza. Madrid's historic center is full of winding cobblestone pedestrian streets and the elaborate main square, Plaza Mayor, is filled with cafes and arcades that house shops, bars, bakeries and souvenir stands. Just outside of the city within easy driving distance are: El Escorial, the palace of King Felipe II; El Valle de los Caidos, Spain's monument to victims of its Civil War; and Alcala de Henares, the birthplace of Cervantes. Additional great options for day trips are the three nearby UNESCO World Heritage Cities of Avila, Segovia and Toledo.
