Location description from manager

The Brighton and Hove region

Brighton & Hove, Britain's favourite seaside city. Nestling between the South Downs and English Channel on the sunny south coast.

80 miles of coastline means super beaches for the family; here are lovely gardens, history and heritage; castles, abbeys, priories, stately homes and historic houses. There are family amusement parks and wildlife centres; the nostalgic, the curious and the simply fun, including museums of bygones, steam railways and caves.

Sussex boasts numerous theatres and arts festivals, golf courses, horse racing, many ancient churches and buildings plus large Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty over the South Downs and Ashdown Forest, (including the soon-to-be-designated South Downs National Park) - and don't forget the Sussex Pub!

Hove

Brighton is a rich mix of regency heritage, specialist shopping, lively arts, beach front fun and year round events, not forgetting the exotic Royal Pavilion.

England’s loveliest and liveliest city by the sea. Brighton and Hove is fun, cosmopolitan and uniquely eccentric all year round. Regency architecture, pleasure pier, specialist shops, pavement cafés, lively arts scene and vibrant nightlife everything’s in walking distance, so take time to explore and enjoy. And with a backdrop of the Sussex Downs and traditional English countryside, Brighton and Hove is a great base for exploring the region. Brighton and Hove is the most enchanting, exciting, extraordinary seaside city in Britain. However brazen that may sound, it is no exaggeration. With its cosmopolitan air, oodles of restaurants, feverish nightlife and abundance of culture, the place defies comparison with anywhere else this side of the English Channel.

For centuries it has been regarded as a ‘pleasure dome’, and that’s not about to change. If you love life, welcome to Brighton and Hove.

“Nice cute house, excellent location”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2015

Sweet little house in the Hove Actually, clean and very well equipped. We immediately felt at home, the kids loved the built in bunk beds. Some lovely pubs nearby. Couldn't fault the house, and would recommend it as an ideal place to stay. Stairs a little dangerous for very young children.

“Short Break in Brighton”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2014

I visited Brighton over the weekend with a group of friends, and there was 7 of us. It was my first time in Brighton and the trip was very enjoyable indeed. The main positive of the house for me is it's location it's very near everything, and you can get around by walking and it's only a 5-10 minute drive from the train station. The house itself is nice and cosy, only one bathroom so can be busy but we managed it. The only down side is that the sofa bed isn't the best and appears quite old, so we instead used the floor by laying a quilt. Finally the house is very secure and in a nice area. Overall the short break in Brighton was an enjoyable and memorable one, would definitely stay here again!

Owner's reply: We are delighted you enjoyed your time in Brighton, the owner is at the property this week checking the sofa bed following your comments. Many thanks for taking the time to leave your review.

“Great location”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2014

Stayed with my wife and 15 year old son, great property, situated next to the Old Market and well looked after and beautifully planted courtyard/garden leading to the Waterloo Arch, Lovely quirky bars and cafes within five minutes stroll north, Hove Gardens and seafront five minutes stroll south. Absolutely loved our weeks stay, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, only gripe being Brighton is not very car friendly for obvious traffic reasons, we parked outside the controlled zones and didn't need the car all week. Would recommend and will definitely be back.

Owner's reply: We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Vintage Cottage and on behalf of Crown Gardens Ltd and the landlord, thank you for taking the time to leave your comments.

“Christmas Break”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2013

A lovely little property, beautifully decorated and maintained. We stayed there for a few days over Christmas and had a wonderful time. Our only criticism is that when we arrived the heating was off (and clearly had been off for a period of time) so the house was COLD! It did warm up, eventually, but it would have been just that little bit more welcoming to have stepped out of the cold, pouring rain into a warm, snuggly house. Other than that, it's a delightful house and we would certainly consider staying there again.
