Open plan, airy private converted barn loft apartment with walk out roof terrace. 3 star classified by Ministry Tourism perfect for couples looking for a base to explore Normandy at the same time benefit from peace, quiet and privacy.

Set within the grounds of a farmhouse set in 3 acres, both the cottage & the barn apartment have separate entrances, secure parking and completely self-contained and private, you have no neighbors above below or next to you... if you don't want to see us, you don't! Just Stavros the donkey who lives in the field you overlook - he'll come & say hello!

We're 4 miles from Sainte Mere Eglise & Carentan - 10 minutes from Utah Beach, 35 minutes from Bayeux, Omaha Beach, an hour from Mont St Michel...the problem here is we are in the heart of a National Park as well as the D Day Landing Beaches, there is a surprising amount to see & do!

We've tried to think of everything! Free wifi, TV, free to view SKY TV, DVD player - masses of movies to include The Longest Day & Band of Brothers. Wood burner, candles, bed made up with 100% cotton crisp linen, plenty of towels, toweling bathrobes...we leave out guest soaps, loo rolls, and cleaning products as well. The bed 6' wide x 6'6' long so plenty room to stretch out!

This is a child free zone... no traffic jams, stress and certainly none of the hustle and bustle of city living

Set in Normandy within Cotentin and Bessin Marshlands Regional Natural Park. WW2 Utah Beach the Invasion beach, located less than 10 minutes from us, is a significantly important coastal protected area.

The area is stunning countryside and completely different each season.

This coast being slightly wilder than the west coast is very unspoiled especially with the government owning vast tracts of the coastline to preserve the natural beauty.

This area in Normandy is also famous for its horses with numerous stud farms and training stables.On Utah Beach world class Trotting Horses are trained every day on the beach.

There is something for everyone, there is too much to do!

The beaches are paradise, miles, and miles of golden sands, it's safe to swim and it's not crowded. With the bird sanctuary on Utah Beach, there is an amazing number of different species of seabirds and ducks If it is particularly quiet on the beach you may be able to spot the colony of seals.

Huge mussels and oysters beds with the produce destined for the finest restaurants and tables in Paris and other gourmet destinations – it is possible to purchase shellfish directly from the farm shops locally.

Bayeux, Mont St Michel are just short drives away, it is even possible to go to Jersey for the day from here!

Animals - We're known as Arc de Noah here in our village! we have 2 Llamas, 3 Alpacas, 2 very friendly goats, 2 sheep, lots and lots of Bantam & silkie chickens all at liberty, 1 goose, 2 Jack Russell's & 3 Yorkies that live for visitors! plus 7 rescue cats.

Cycling or walking holidays...1,000 km of trails for cycling with one of the 22km routes starting outside our gate!

If you like local produce then there are many farms open to the general public, where you can see the product being made and buy some to take home. It's possible to have a tour around the Camembert factories.

We live on site - if you want our over view of what to see, where to go & how to do it we are very happy to share with you. We can organize local car hire - if you follow our suggested days out you will be comfortably in the mileage allowance. If you don't want to interact that is fine with us too. Our Christmas/New Year package includes a welcome hamper, decorations, tree, trimmings and wood all cut for the wood burner...peace & tranquility - even a dog for company if you should wish! Free war tour to do under your own steam and if the weather is dry enough a ride out in the WW2 Jeep or Kublewagon!

House rules

This house is really perfect for anyone - but it really isn't perfect for lively children, a young boisterous family...the garden isn't big enough, it's on the square when traffic passes...consequently we only take children over the age of 11...
Smoking - you can smoke outside in the garden as long as you don't leave any ends around.
Dogs are welcome - but the garden is not a dog loo & it is really really not allowed to put any doggie things through the washer or tumble drier...
