The neighbourhood of Hoole has become the most vibrant and trendy area of the city, safe to walk around at night and hosting a mixture of young couples and families. There are various parks, a large variety of local independent shops catering for all your needs, late-opening supermarkets, quality take-away food retailers, pubs, coffee-shops and restaurants. We have carefully retained as many attractive Victorian period features as possible throughout the years, such as original plank wooden floors in the bedrooms, internal oak doors, brick-layered chimney, a decorative archway and period fireplace in the main bedroom. However we have also included a few modern twists, for example fully double glazed windows, John Lewis bedding and a modern bathroom with quality toiletries to ensure your stay is super-comfortable. The overall size of the property is around 55 square metres inside, including both floors, plus 12 square metres outside.

We have one large double room and one smaller bedroom with a single sofa-bed, therefore accommodating up to three people. This room can be used as a study or a single bedroom, please let us know in advance to prepare it accordingly. We can make the property wheelchair friendly and may also accommodate well-behaved small pets, but please enquire first. Please also note the stairs to the first floor of the property are slightly more steep than you may find in modern properties purely due to the historical design of the house. This should not be a problem unless you have severe mobility issues but it's useful to know in advance.

Downsairs, the lounge has a flat plasma TV with many channels, fast-speed wired/wireless internet and a DVD player with a wide selection of DVDs. We also have a selection of books and local information brochures for you to enjoy during your stay. Our kitchen/diner is fully equipped, including a brand new washing machine and dryer, fridge, ironing equipment, microwave, toaster, etc and all utensils required for day-to-day cooking. There is a fully refurbished shower-room with a large heated tower rail and small back garden. All duvets and pillows are high-quality and hypo-allergenic and we replace them every 12 months. Bedding and towels are freshly laundered and ironed before each booking and we use the services of a professional cleaner to ensure the property is maintained to a high standard. We also provide a travel cot and highchair for younger guests plus hairdryer and towels too.

Guests have access to the full property and free on-street parking space, whether at the front or the back of the house. Follow the lovely canal walk into the city centre, enjoy the local independent shops or venture out further afield. If you are looking for a warm, friendly and lively neighbourhood then Hoole is definitely the right spot, and rest assured we'll aim to make your stay memorable.

“I’m missing it!”

A warm welcome with flowers and fruits awaited me - holiday mood was immediately here. Entering the cottage through the red door you find yourself in the pretty little living room which continues into the kitchen, where even for a demanding person everything is available and this in a very good quality. A few steps on and you are in the modern bathroom with a shower in white, black and red design. Upstairs is the cosy bedroom with a big window and every evening you are pleased to fall into a wonderful and very comfortable bed. Not to forget the little garden in the back. The location is very good: 10 min to the bus station to town (easy to find), 25 min to the town centre on foot, 5 min. to shops and restaurants, 5 min.to a big park, 15 min on foot to the train station. But most attractive and relaxation pure: A walk along the canal on a small path, on the other side of the Canal cute little houses with flower gardens reflecting in the water, swimming duck families, just beautiful impressions! And all that you can see in only 5 min from the house. The very friendly and helpful couple Isabel and Tobi, the walks along the canal, friends and of course the beautiful and unique City Chester ---- I’m missing it. Dorothea from Switzerland
