Description

Situated in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ this quarryman’s stone cottage is the perfect place for a peaceful getaway. Built to home the Cornish settlers during the building of the Holyhead Breakwater; this cottage offers traditional features alongside modern day comforts.

Pentre Pella (furthest village) is a small sleepy village with stunning views over Anglesey and the Snowdonia mountain range. It is the perfect location for access to the many footpaths and narrow lanes that crisscross Holyhead Mountain, a feature which dominates Holy Island. The summit is only a short stroll away and the perfect chance to admire amazing panoramic sea views. On a clear day the Isle of Man and Ireland can be seen.

Outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore the sea cliffs and surrounding waters will find this the ideal situation, there is easy access to the Anglesey Coastal Path. The sandy beach of Porthdafach is an eight minute drive away and Trearddur Bay a further five.

The port of Holyhead with access to trains and ferries is a five minute drive away, offering day trips to Dublin.

South Stack light house is a five minute drive or is easily accessible by the large number of footpaths. The RSBP visitor centre Ellin’s Tower offers bird watching opportunities with café and beautiful sea views.

A footpath can take you down to the Breakwater Country Park with museum and café offering homemade food. From here you can take the footpath over to North Stack or walk the 1.8 miles to the end of the breakwater giving a different perspective of Holyhead. An easy stroll will take you over to the marina and the Newry Beach area of Holyhead.

Further afield lies Anglesey and Snowdonia to explore.

Downstairs the cottage offers plenty of character with beams and log burner. Relax in front of the TV with Freeview. Choose from the selection of DVDs and books. Unlimited WiFi is available. The conservatory offers a dining table for four. The modern kitchen offers an electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, coffee machine and solid oak breakfast bar for two. A laundry cupboard with washing machine and freezer. A modern shower room with WC.

Occupying the first floor are two single bedrooms and one king size. All three bedrooms have ample storage and stunning sea views over Holyhead Marina, Breakwater and Anglesey.

The enclosed and sheltered back garden has both lawn and decking areas, again with those lovely views. Furniture is available for alfresco dining or simply enjoying this peaceful sun trap.

Please kindly note that this is a traditional cottage and such has some low door frames.

Fuel and power included in the rent. Oil central heating. Bed linen included. Hand & bath towels and a bath mat are provided at no additional cost. Guests are kindly requested to provide beach towels.

Full and private access to the cottage and garden during your stay. Off road private parking for one car immediately outside the front of the cottage. Further communal parking available ten meters away.

Lockable bike storage.

Short stay breaks available on request at certain times of the year.

£50 cleaning fee on all stays less than one week.

How do damage deposits work?
