Description from owner

Description

Our beautiful, spacious and historic Grade II listed house in Holy Island (Lindisfarne) village centre sleeps 8 adults comfortably in 4 bedrooms. Pets welcome. Prices include bed linen but not towels.

Holy Island is cut off from the mainland by the tide twice a day, and is a magical and peaceful place to unwind. The house is very close to shops, pubs and beaches, as well as the famous Castle and Priory. We've suggested our favourite walks from the front door in our guest folder.

Links View is the largest holiday home on the island. We have many repeat visitors who say they love that this is a real family home with lots of personal touches, William Morris wallpaper, and antique as well as modern furniture (rather than another bland magnolia holiday let!) The house is ideal for families, as there is lots of fun to be had for children in the house, with games, DVDs and toys provided and lots of places for hide and seek. Adults will find it a romantic and relaxing retreat.

Location description from owner

The England region

Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is a beautiful, uniquely peaceful tidal island on the Northumbrian coastline, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with plenty to see and do.

Holy Island

Holy Island is the local name for Lindisfarne, an Island off the coast of Northumberland which is accessed by a tidal causeway. It is a beautiful and uniquely peaceful place to stay, especially when the tide is "shut" to the outside world. The Island is of great historic importance, as England's cradle of Christianity, and the site of Viking invasions and successive conflicts over the centuries. As well as historic sites to visit, the Island boasts unparalleled wildlife and natural beauty, including dunes and beaches, and a picturesque village and harbour. The Castle, Priory, museum and heritage centre are all a few minutes walk from Links View, and there are a number of cafes and pubs serving high quality local produce. The Northumbrian coast has miles and miles of beautiful clean sandy beaches, many attractions and beauty spots - you can visit Bamburgh Castle or Alnwick Gardens, or take a wildlife cruise to the Farne Islands - but you will probably not want to leave the Island...
