Location description from owner

The England region

Devon's Historic City of Plymouth, famous for its association with Seafarers and Explorers like Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh, Captain Cook, Darwin and many, many more.

The City of Plymouth is full of fascinating places to visit. The natural harbour of in Plymouth Sound has been voted one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world and it's not hard to see why. You can take a boat trip around the harbour to see why the approach to Plymouth by sea is much admired by sailors.

The Barbican, the historic quarter of Plymouth, retains much of its Elizabethan charm and is very popular with visitors and locals. There are many restaurants, bars and tea shops to keep you refreshed during your stay and there are several narrow cobbled streets to explore and get the feel of old Plymouth. The City Centre is modern in comparison and was rebuilt after the devastation that Plymouth suffered during the blitz of World War II. Sir Patrick Abercrombie (at the time regarded as the most influential city planner in Britain) created a radical City Centre in the Heroic Modernist style. Plymouth offers so much to the visitor, as the gateway to Cornwall the beautiful coastal villages are jsut a short drive away. The rugged beauty of Dartmoor has much to offer the adventurous visitor, with ancient villages and exquisite moorland there is much to see and do. The coastline and harbour offers mariners the opportunity to explore the coastline and sea around Plymouth. There are plenty of old fishing villages to anchor off, like the twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. If you prefer to take it easy, take a boat ride around the coast and along the river Tamar.

Hoe

The Coach House, a compact and detached 3 bedroomed former stables is on a quiet street on Plymouth Hoe. It has 2 integral garages and there is a communal courtyard.

Plymouth Hoe is ideally situated and is a few minutes walk from the City Centre, Barbican and Royal william Yard. It is a short boat trip to Mount Edgcumbe Estate in the South East peninsula of Cornwall and the twin villages of Cawsand and Kingsand.

The views from the Hoe Waterfront are fantastic and never fails to get a resounding WOW! The streets have elegant Georgian and Victorian buildings and there is plenty of Green space to relax in. The Plymouth Wheel is a popular tourist attraction as it offers some amazing view of the coastline, the City of Plymouth and Dartmoor. Smeatons Tower, the old lighthouse, is very much part of the Hoe and visitors still enjoy climbing the winding steps to the top.

The Theatre Royal, Plymouth Pavillions and numerous Restuarants, Bars and Cafes offers you lots of choice for enterment. Plymouth's Jazz Festival in the Barbican has people returning year after year.
