“Lovely accommodation close to Hobart and scenic sites"”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2016

Fabulous stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Arrived to a lovely welcome sign, a free bottle of red and a lot of information about the area. Hosts were very welcoming, easy to communicate with and provided fabulous restaurant recommendations (go to the Glass House and Syra). Good location, 35min walk from Salamanca (restaurants and market on a Saturday) or $12 cab into town. Close to Cascade Brewery and 30min drive to the top of Mt Wellington. Loved the four poster bed, really felt like we were on a decadent holiday. Big living room, nice outdoor area.

Owner's reply: Dear A and A, It was an absolute pleasure to welcome you both for your very special first wedding anniversary. We have guests in the past coming for so many celebrations, honeymoons, wedding anniversaries and birthdays. What beautiful memories you can all take home with you. We eat out in many restaurants so that we can give our guests some really good advice on the best of the restaurants in Hobart. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Ashi and Mike

“Excellent accommodation, location and people!”

We had a great 3 night stay at the Sandy Bay Chalet whilst our floors were being polished. Ashi and Mike were fantastic hosts, the booking process was personable and easy and we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The chalet was sunny, very clean and relaxing and we were all made to feel very welcome, including our four-legged family member. Would definitely recommend Sandy Bay Chalet to our family and friends.

Owner's reply: Dear G, D and baby Scotty, What a pleasure to have you all stay with us. It is lovely to have locals come and stay and thank you for leaving the property in fantastic condition, cleaned and cared for . Look forward to meeting and treating you both in the near future. We are so glad that Scotty enjoyed his home made liver treats and that you loved Mike's apricot jam. They were the organic apricots from our gardens. Ashi and Mike

“Superb pet and wheelchair friendly accommodation”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2016

Ashi and Mike Edwards have created a wonderful haven away from it all but close to everything in Sandy Bay, Hobart. The Chalet is pet friendly and wheelchair friendly making the Sandy Bay Chalet a unique and welcoming experience. The boutique chalet is exceptionally well equipped and positioned with everything one needs for an independent stay. There is a private garden, parking and modern luxurious accommodation. Ashi and Mikes natural therapy expertise add a relaxing aspect to our Sandy Bay Chalet break. I thoroughly recommend a sojourn here no matter what your circumstance!

Owner's reply: Dear W and R and babies, We so enjoyed having you as our very special guests and so glad that you all enjoyed your stay at our chalet with your doggie babies. It is the first time that we have had a wheelchair guest and he was just delightful and loved getting around in his mobility scooter with the dogs. We were most impressed. We wish you both a wonderful stay in Hobart for the next five years and thank you for staying with us. Ashi and Mike

“Beautiful chalet, great location and Mad about dogs”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2015

Sandy Bay Chalet is modern, immaculately clean and spacious. Lovely furnishings and fittings and a gorgeous enclosed cottage garden. We loved the views of Mt Wellington through the full length windows. Ashi and Mike couldn't be more helpful before and during our stay. The Chalet is set in beautiful grounds and is very private with undercover parking. Great location, really easy to get to all the delights Hobart has to offer. The BEST thing of all was the warm welcome given to our dogs! We always travel with our dogs and find many places charge a premium but really don't want the dogs there. At Sandy Bay Chalets it was dogs first, mum and dad second. Just the way it should be. Ashi even gave them homemade treats. We highly recommend this place and can't wait to return.

Owner's reply: Dear J, M and babies, It was an absolute pleasure and delight to have you all staying and so glad you enjoyed our dog sitting service for the babies while you could get away for a few days. Yes, we are all about nurture and nature, looking after the precious doggie children that come to stay with us with their mums and dads and giving them our home made doggie treats is our pleasure. We look forward to welcoming you all back one day and take care, Ashi and Mike

“Wonderful, pet friendly boutique accomodation”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2015

We loved our stay at Sandy Bay Chalet, and only wish we could've stayed longer. Ashi and Mike are most welcoming and helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate both us and our dogs. Sandy Bay Chalet is minutes from Hobart city and a perfect base from which to explore Tasmania. The views of Mt Wellington from the chalet were spectacular, and it was just a delight to come home to after a day's exploring.

Owner's reply: Dear Guests, It was a delight for both Mike and I to have you stay with us and your beautiful dogs. Hobart is always a delight for first time visitors and I am so glad that you enjoyed the comforts of the Chalet and the beautiful view of Mount Wellington from the Chalet. Take care Ashi and Mike

We stayed for 2 weeks at Sandy Bay Chalet after having stayed for a similar time last year. The chalet is spacious, clean, warm and comfortable – perfect for an extended stay. The undercover parking at the door is really handy and the fenced grassed area is perfect for our elderly pooch to snoop around. Ashi's reflexology and reiki treatment is worth splashing out for to compliment your stay.

Owner's reply: Dear R and C and Pasha, It was a delight to have you all staying again this year and thank you for leaving the Chalet so clean and tidy after a long stay. You were lovely guests to have and I am sure glad that C enjoyed her Reflexology and Reiki in the Chalet. Take care of yourselves and we look forward to welcoming you all back next year again. Ashi and Mike

“An inviting place to stay and much more...”

We stayed at the Sandy Bay Chalet before and it didn't disappoint once again. Cosy, warm, well appointed and clean Lovely Hosts and nice views of the mountain upon waking in the morning. We came to Hobart for a wedding this time. The chalet has so much space to kick back get ready in. Plus you can enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles in between things. It is always clean, comfortable and welcoming. I took the time to enjoy the services offered by the lovely Ashi. A reflexology and Reiki session that left me feeling energized and relaxed at the same time! Perfect way to end the weekend. I will be coming back in July to stay and run a small Gokhale Method® Back Course in this space. It is big enough to suit a small intimate group. Plus there is a kitchen to make tea and coffee and relax in between sessions. It is a great all round place to stay and a convenient venue as well. (who knew) Perfect!

Owner's reply: Dear M and K How lovely it was to see you both again as return guests. Looking forward to you both coming back again in July. take care Ashi and Mike

“Perfectly positioned and very pet friendly”

Sandy Bay Chalet is very well positioned for a stay in Hobart. It boasts great views of Mt Wellington and is well-equipped and comfortable with a fenced yard for the four-legged member of the family, Clancy was very happy. Our onsite hosts, Ashi and Mike, were extremely welcoming and hospitable without being intrusive. We never did manage to get connected through WIFI, otherwise, it was great.

Owner's reply: Dear H,M and Clancy, It was an absolute pleasure to have you all stay with us and we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at our property. It is a shame that you were not able to manage to get the wifi going as it was available on the property and we pointed it out to you on check in as to how to connect to it. We look forward to welcoming you all back when you return to the beautiful city of Hobart. Ashi and Micahel
