5 star Luxury Self Catering accommodation in a beautifully refurbished early victorian Gatelodge. Centrally located for the Mourne Mountains and Co Down coast, Titanic Centre, Belfast, Dublin, Fermanagh lakelands, Giants Causeway and the North Antrim coast. Golf, fishing, cycling, swimming, horse riding and cinema facilities are within a short drive. Many local pubs and restaurants close by.

The historic georgian village of Hillsborough is a 10 minute drive away as well as best kept village Moira. For those who like to shop we are close to Belfast, Lisburn, Sprucefield and the Outlet at Banbridge. The rural location ensures a stress free and relaxing break. The accommodation has two large double bedrooms with superkingsize or single beds. The main bedroom has an ensuite wet room with shower and the other a private bathroom with bath and shower. There is a fully fitted kitchen and utility room with washer, dishwasher and tumble dryer. The large sitting room has comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove and TV and a selection of books and board games. All bedlinen and towels are supplied. A folding bed and cot can be supplied at no extra cost. The accommodation is all on one level so suitable for wheelchairs and disabled access.The doorways are wide.

There is additional cost for coal, firewood and turf for the stove.

Super place, everything as it says in the advert. Locations is great for going into Belfast and enjoying the surrounding area which is beautiful

This cottage is a gem - we arrived in the evening and Esther had some lights on as well as the heating - such a treat to be welcomed so warmly. Esther called in the next day to make sure everything was ok and to answer any questions we had. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard which gives a home away from home feeling, plenty of kitchen utensils. The shower was hot and powerful, the bed was a super king and sooooo comfortable - so good that you didn't want to get out of in the morning. Even the lounges were comfortable - there was nothing negative about the cottage. One of the great things was the views - it was nice to look out over the hills and also see the trees dropping their Autumn leaves, even on a foggy or wet day it was beautiful. It is not far to a service station which stocks grocery items and bread etc. There is also another one about 5 minutes down the road in Dromara plus a few places to eat. The cottage is very convenient to a lot of places for day trips etc Definitely a car is needed as it is a little out of the way. We enjoyed our 2 weeks here that we cant wait to return to N. Ireland to stay there again and we would highly recommend this cottage.

“Charming cottage”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (3 nights) at the Gate House. We were 2 couples and it was the perfect size for us. Everything has been recently updated and done with extreme taste. The views from the cottage are amazing, and very peaceful. Location is good, and within driving distances of shopping, dining and sightseeing. Wishing, at the time, that we had a few more nights to spend there.
