Description from owner
Situated in the village of Highley, Shropshire. This adorable log cabin is 5 minutes walk from the River Severn. With this in mind, it makes an ideal place for keen fishermen, especially those fishing for Barbel. There are many private pegs and BAA pegs available close by.
The cabin is also appealing to train spotters/ rail enthusiasts. Highley train station is very close by, as is the local train museum. Some of the rarest steam trains can be seen passing through Highley. Indeed the trains attract tourists from all over, a great place to bring the children to experience ways of travel in time gone by.
Highley train station connects the two neighbouring villages of Brigenorth and Bewdley. Both lovely places to visit not only for shopaholics, but for the history they hold, Bewdley also been very well know for its tourist attraction of the Safari Park/Theme Park.
Where the cabin is placed it is not over looked by any neighbouring residents. It is very quiet and secluded and so makes a perfect place to go and simply do nothing.......... other than eat and drink ;) The local village shops are a 5 minute drive if provisions are needed. Or let some one else cooking as the local Indian and Chinese deliver most evenings.
There is a leisure centre in Highley, with an heated outdoor swimming pool during the summer months.
The Wyre Forest is only a few miles away, so for those of you who enjoy country walks and bike riding. There are many friendly country pubs to eat and drink along the way,the cabin is great for a few nights away.
We have noticed an increase of wild life of late, particularly birds, animal enthusiasts would really enjoy the surroundings.
The Cabin has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and open planned lounge. There is a separate shed for fishermen to store their tackle and separate fridge for bait.
There is a T.V and DVD player, so feel free to bring a film and have a quiet night in. The TV has free sky satellite service, so if you have a sky card, bring it along and you should be able to watch your own chosen channels.

We were met by the owner Adrian who showed us around and pointed us in a few directions which was great. It turned out to be a fantstic long weekend, Adrian,s cabin which was warm and cosy also has everything you could possibly need. The peace and quiet along with local wildlife where the cabin is sited is amazing. We walked for miles along the river and also spent a day on the steam railway. Couldn't ask for more, thank you Adrian.

We were very pleased with the accomodation which was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. Wild birds in the garden and views of passing steam trains from the veranda. A lovely place to unwind and relax.

“Lovely and peaceful stay”
The chalet is lovely, comfortable and clean. Enjoyed our stay we had very relaxing weekend. You can see the trains from the decking which was good. Would recommend.

Had a lovely time here the setting is perfect in the woods with nature all around and excellent view of the steam train going by. Accommodation was brilliant and all you needed, home from home. The owner was very helpful, would definitely return here :).
this was a fantastic short break, so tranquil and stress free. scenery to die for, pub local but not too close to spoil peace and quiet. i would happily visit this place 4 times a year if i could afford it.

“Excellent Accommodation with fantastic views overlooking the adjacent Severn Valley Railway in beautiful rural surrounds”
As an angler I rented this cabin to use as a base for fishing the River Severn during a week's holiday from work. It was very clean, comfortable and homely with excellent modern bathroom and kitchen facilities in particular. Having stayed in early March, I was particularly looking for accommodation that was well heated and this cabin most certainly was, as I have found this not always to be the case in other dwellings I have stayed in previously. Included in the package were the added bonuses of a large plasma screen T.V and DVD player, so I found it to be very family friendly. Comfortable bedrooms make for a good night sleep and the excellent location provides fantastic views overlooking the beautiful Severn Valley and it's Steam Railway (Especially from the outside Veranda), which would be of particular interest to Steam Rail enthusiasts, looking for outstanding views of the trains as they go by. With regard to the garden and patio area at the rear of the property, there was an excellent and secure lockup facility more than adequate for storing all of my fishing rods and equipment. Overall, this was an ideal place to stay, which pretty much catered for all of my needs and I would most certainly be happy to return my custom and recommend to others. Although, if I was to point out any minor room for improvement, then maybe the Bait Fridge/Freezer could have done with a larger freezer section to allow for the freezing of larger quantities of frozen baits such as hemp seed and boilies etc, especially ideal in the warmer months when anglers tend to use more.
“Wonderful 1st Wedding Anniversary Weekend!”
Myself and my husband stayed at this cabin for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. It was a lovely weekend break. We could of stayed longer. The facilities were great. There is a pub on site where the food was lovely. The cabin was very clean, tidy and comfortable.I wouldn't hesitate in staying there again.
What a lovely little place, tucked away in an upper field above Highley Station. Surrounded by fields and beautiful views, so quiet and comfortable. The owner really went out of his way to make us comfortable, had the place nicely warmed up for us and welcoming, even offered an extra night or two at no cost due to the stormy weather. The cabin was well equipped with everything we could need and a welcome place to return to. Remember to bring towels though!

we wanted to get away some where quiet for christmas, and we found just that here. The cabin itself was beautiful, clean and modern, it was also spacious, just enough room for my husband, daughter, myself and the dog. The location was fabulous, only 10min walk to the local pub and river, and a 5min drive into highley village. We will definitely be booking it again.xx
