Welcome to Camp Bear Pen- a fun place for your family to spend your time in Highlands. This home has that wonderful 'Old Highlands' feel with pine paneled walls, large gathering spaces and screened porch.
Mostly all on one level, you enter onto a screened porch then into the great room- large open kitchen, dining area (that can seat 8 comfortably), gas long fireplace, large flat screen TV and entrance to the covered porch to catch some sunset hues through the trees (great winter view). The kitchen has corian counter tops, all stainless steel appliances and is set for cooking- just bring the cook! You can sit on the screened porch and watch the children play in the back yard where there's an old treehouse (just waiting to be explored) and a picnic table. In the evenings, you can join them sitting around the fire pit while telling ghost stories and enjoying S'mores. There's a 'grilling station' with a charcoal grill. The front yard is more flat and more suitable for lawn games, while the backyard has a rolling terrain with more perennial flowers and moss.
Great floor plan for two families with split floor plan. One side has the Mst. BR with a king bed and sleep sofa, and private bath. The opposite wing has two bedroom s and a full bath with walk in shower. BR#2 has a King bed, flat screen, DVD player and sitting area. The 3rd BR has 2 twins and an older TV. The guest wing can all be closed off for more privacy.
The basement / garage can be a fun place for children too- there's a small TV/VCR there, with two twin beds, and a full bath with walk in shower. The laundry area is there as well For the ADULTS that may need help getting upstairs, there's a chair lift from the garage area. This area does NOT count as a bedroom, but can be used for extra sleeping- BUT we need to arrange for it to be ready a few days in **********'S A GARAGE/ BASEMENT
Minimum night stays for many of our vacation rental homes are two or three nights, BUT there are exceptions. *Rentals during holidays and local events are usually a one week minimum until a week or so before the holiday.
*Rentals for the following year are a one month minimum until February 1st of the rental year. Beginning in February, we start renting with a one week minimum. Rentals of less than one week can be booked within 30 days of the desired dates. You can always contact us to be put on a waiting list. Since we work on behalf of our rental owners, our first priority is to keep their homes filled with happy renters.
