At the Kite House, one can live in a piece of artwork designed by famed modernist architect, Jim Fox. This unique home was designed to optimize spectacular views of Whiteside Mountain and Devil's Courthouse from every room. Sitting at 4,500 ft., the views are constantly changing as you watch the skyline and mountain ridges.
As soon as you enter the living area, you are greeted with a massive stacked stone fireplace set against a wall of windows allowing the mountain views to come inside the home. The Chef's kitchen, dining area, and two living areas flow easily for your family's use or for entertaining. One of the two living areas enjoys the remote controlled gas long fireplace, and beautiful sitting area with italian leather. while the other one has a large projection TV and there's an office area in between so you can work and play at the same time. The main level also has the Mst. BR with King bed, flat screen, private bath with 'his and hers' area, guest half bath, and guest BR (King) with private bath. The lower level has two bedrooms (Queen, 2 twins) each with a private bath. The lower level family room area has a kitchenette as well as access to the lower deck with putting green, and hammock area.
A photographer's paradise. Watch the light in the sky shift and change across mountain and cloud shadows from a 180 panorama on the cantilevered back deck. The house is a 4 minute drive from the Shadow of the Bear Overlook on Highway 64.
Amenities include: 2 storey stacked stone fireplace with gas log, Irish steam room, chef's kitchen, fully social/entertaining equipped for groups up to 25, Bride suite, up-to-date tech interface, and much more. The views throughout the house are hypnotizing and awe-inspiring.
This is one of the most exclusively unique homes available as a rental in the Highlands area. The contemporary sleek lines entwined with majestic mountain flair allow beauty and comfort all rolled into one package.
Minimum night stays for many of our vacation rental homes are two or three nights, BUT there are exceptions. *Rentals during holidays and local events are usually a one week minimum until a week or so before the holiday.
*Rentals for the following year are a one month minimum until February 1st of the rental year. Beginning in February, we start renting with a one week minimum. Rentals of less than one week can be booked within 30 days of the desired dates. You can always contact us to be put on a waiting list. Since we work on behalf of our rental owners, our first priority is to keep their homes filled with happy renters.
