“Our stay at Frankham Fell”

We had a great time, the cottage was superb very spacious and very well equipped. We had 3 children who had a great time and plenty of space to run round. Thanks

“Excellent House”

We booked this house to attend a wedding nearby, and with my husband originally from Hexham, do a little reminiscing. What a treat it was to walk into a lovely warm, both temperature and feel, house. The welcome pack was amazing! After a 9 hour car journey to discover we’d been left wine, beer, soft drinks and of course tea, coffee & sugar was a really welcome treat. The house itself slept the 6 of us very comfortably, and was well equipped for all of our needs. We will not hesitate to come back to this house on our next visit to the Northeast.

“A perfect location to visit Hadrian's wall”

Frankham Fell was a very comfortable typical English cottage. The rooms were spacious and very pleasant, the kitchen was very well equipped, there plenty of games, discs and other items that made the place feel home. The best feature was the sun room with it's fabulous view. a fantastic place to relax with a tea and a good book. The sun room was large enough for all 5 of us to relax. Ian was very responsive and helpful and alert to all inquires we had. The cottage is in excellent proximity to the wall, Hexam for shopping and nice nature walks.

“Great stay in the country”

My family had a great stay at Franklin Fell. The garden was lovely and the kids loved the house. The kitchen had everything we needed and we even used the BBQ to grill some sausages one evening. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

“An excellent welcome with ample provision for the stay.”

We were welcomed by our host, and there were ample stocks in the larder and refrigerator. The house was immaculate and comfortable. The only criticism I would make is that finding the cottage from the surrounding roads was tricky, but the cottage was ablaze with light as we approached, so the slight angst of finding it proved worthwhile. We should certainly like to stay again. We had a family Christmas in Hexham, so did not take advantage of the superb countryside around.

“Comfortable house with a great views”

The drive up to the property is via a track so be careful if you have a low slung car. The house is traditionally furnished but very comfortable and in an ideal location to walk Hadrian's Wall. The house has all the modern comforts you would expect and the bright and airy conservatory is a great place to enjoy the views if the weather is not great. There is also an outside area which we did not use due to the not so good weather. Good beds and shower too. You do hear the dogs barking from the kennels next door at around 7:30 am if you sleep with your windows open but that is the time to start getting up so this did not bother us. There are two excellent pubs nearby serving good food if you do not want to cook. The Crown Inn, Chollerford and the Boatside Inn, Warden.
