Severus Suite offers the ideal base for a family or group self-catering holiday in our beautiful and friendly City. This second-floor apartment offers versatile sleeping options: the spacious king size en-suite bedroom also includes a permanent single. The second bedroom is an en-suite twin that can be converted into a room for three children with the addition of a bunk + fold-out bed or cot. Recently modernised, the apartment also boasts a well-equipped kitchen and spacious living room with dining area or, if you would rather eat out, is perfectly situated with award-winning restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars nearby.
Guests regularly comment favourably on our central location and closeness to York's major attractions - less than ten minutes walk from the Railway Station, National Railway Museum and York Wheel. Ideal for York Racecourse and the Knavesmire for racing and numerous events. Around ten minutes walk to the city centre via historic Micklegate with its churches, privately-owned shops and galleries. Or walk the walls toward the Minster starting at Micklegate Bar, only 200 yards from the apartment.
Wander into the centre and enjoy all that York has to offer: museums, river cruises and shopping streets to suit any taste or pocket, or for the brave of heart, visit York Dungeons and Haunted, enjoy an evening meal by the river and top the day off with a Ghost Walk. Then, tired but happy, return to your apartment to share one of a variety of DVDs, or choose a holiday read from our wide selection of books; a small selection of games is also available to enjoy in our comfortable living room; or leave the children with the DVD and retire to catch up with the News or favourite soap in your own room, and so to bed.

The Yorkshire region
Yorkshire is England's largest and probably most scenically-diverse county. Its coastal towns vary widely in character from vibrant and fun to placid and picturesque. The city is a hub of Britain's rail network, with the coast, Manchester, London, Newcastle or Edinburgh all only a train journey away.
Coach and bus trips can be taken from the city too, to nearby stately homes or places of interest such as Howarth, Castle Howard or Beningbrough Hall. By car or by coach, York is a perfect base to visit the North York Moors National Park or the delightful Yorkshire Dales.
York, once England's capital and still Britain's favourite, most romantic city is also a wonderful location for family holidays. There's so much to see and do; for children there's the spooky York Dungeon, the famous Jorvik Centre and DIG, where your child can become an Archaeological Detective!
There are numerous parks, including the nearby Rowntree Park with separate play areas for differing ages. Mums will love the shopping, of course and for a bit of culture, there are museums displaying everything from Roman hair (really!), to Victorian shops, to antique quilts, as well as a lovely local art gallery.
The city boasts a wide variety of eateries too, many within easy walking distance of the apartment; see the Guest Information folder for details.

"Very comfortable apartment, close to amenities and York city centre."
Very comfortable apartment close to York city centre and the railway station, about a 10 minute walk with other amenities closer including Sainsbury opposite and a cinema. There is an allocated parking space behind the property and bus stops outside. We travelled with 3 boys and grandma and the accommodation suited us all, comfortable beds, 2 showers and a well appointed kitchen. Dawn had left food for us and was very welcoming and accommodating throughout. We would happily stay here again as there is so much to see and do in York, great museums, shops, restaurants and of course the Minster where we enjoyed a very informative tour.

We didn't stay in Severus as that was booked on one of the nights we wanted, but were offered the Constantine Suite which is just below Severus and we couldn't have wished for better! This lovely apartment is like a studio apartment but has separate kitchen and bathroom, it's done in French boutique style. The bedroom/sitting room is at the front of the flat, which kitchen at the back. There is everything you could possibly want if you are looking for a romantic break! Beautiful glass chandeliers in the living room. There is a jacuzzi and a very modern kitchen with all the appliances, everything is beautifully clean, the towels in the bathroom were so soft, I wish I could get mine like that! There is even a welcome pack with bottle of wine, which just added that little extra! There is a private parking spot just behind the apartment and you even have pub on your doorstep! There are plenty of places to eat and take always if you just fancying chilling in the flat where CDs, DVDs and books are provided. You are short stroll to the city (literally walking distance). Would I stay here again? Oh yes indeed!
