The house in Herret is very homely, spacious and light. It's been a comfortable second home for many years so is well equipped with all modern amenities like a dishwasher, fabulous range cooker, UK Satellite TV, woodburning stove and a very inviting atmosphere. The rose and vine covered terrace has shaded seating for
8 with good visibility across to the pool and garden. Herret itself is a really pretty hilltop village with views across the surrounding vineyards and fields chequer-boarded with sunflowers and cornfields. It's excellent cycling countryside with a network of tiny quiet roads to the many little villages in the area. Of particular note is the legendary farm at Beraut less than a mile away selling not only the sweetest melons in the district but all local fruit and veg. The whole area surrounding Herret is notable for its Armagnac, wine and duck producers and you will eat very well indeed in this area.
The House in Herret is perfectly placed for either young families wanting to visit one of the water sporting lakes and lidos nearby or for groups of friends wanting to chill by the pool yet still close to many bars and restaurants in the nearby towns and villages.
The newly installed salt water filtered pool is quite simply superb!

The Midi-Pyrénées region
This is the heart of Armagnac producing Gascony where the French community is largely agricultural,
producing some of the finest wine and duck produce in the country.
This is where the French like to go on holiday and many Parisians have second homes in one of the pretty villages dotted amongst the rolling vineyards.
From Spring to Autumn the villages in this part of the world love any excuse to celebrate with exuberant village meals outside if possible where visitors are always given a warm welcome.
All the bars and restaurants still serve remarkably good value set price meals of around 13€ a head for 4 to 5 courses with copious quanties of local rose and wine included.
It is a delightful part of France with plenty of history, museums, art galleries, concerts, ancient monuments and places of interest to intrigue and delight most visitors of all ages.
2kms away is Valence-sur-Baise with its 12th Century Cistercienne Abbaye de Flaran and its legendary permanent art exhibition featuring some of the finest art of the 20th Century including Monet, Picasso, Pissaro, Bonnard and Cezanne.
1km away is the Museum of Modern Art in Beraut.
15 kms away are the mediaeval villages of Fources and Larressingle.
