Location description from owner

The England region

Founded in the 12th century Henley-on-Thames is overlooked by beautiful Chiltern landscape of wooded hills and green fields. Just a few strides from the riverbank is the very heart of Henley with its historic church, town hall and market square.

Local attractions include Stonor Park, Greys Court, a nearby waterpark, Badgemore Golf Club within walking distance.

Henley-on-Thames

The picturesque historic town of Henley-on-Thames has an olde English charm and is best known for the annual Royal Regatta, Henley attracts some of the world´s finest rowers. Statues of those great Olympians Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Matthew Pinsent greet visitors to the town´s award winning River and Rowing Museum.

Henley also attracts golfers to local courses, is home to the nationally known Henley Hawks rugby club and successful cricket and football clubs as well as a privately-owned polo ground.

The stretch of river between the regatta finish and Henley Bridge is the location for the annual Henley Festival of Music and Arts. Now a popular hospitality venue it attracts some of the world´s top entertainers to perform on a floating stage in front of a dinner-jacketed audience and the site includes exhibitions of art and sculpture.

The thriving Kenton Theatre is one of the oldest performing theatres in the country.

Visitors can enjoy a boat trip down the regatta course, either in one of the commercial boats that operate along this stretch or, rather more energetically, in a rowing boat.
Afterwards they can relax in the well-maintained Mill Meadows public park.

Another form of enjoyment is the opportunity to enjoy a meal in one of Henley's many and varied restaurants.

“Best value and location in Henley”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2016

The amount of space at this house vs. similar properties is amazing. The kitchen is enormous! Loads of windows with great light and views of the garden. And the bathtub is big enough to swim in with plenty of hot water. This location is exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a very quiet place, that was around 5 minutes walk into town, yet connected to wonderful walks and national trails just out the front door. A map is helpful because tucked away between the houses are trails that will lead you to some of the most bucolic walks the UK has to offer. A few minutes walking to both waitrose and the train station. There is also a bus that stops just outside the door and ample parking on the street. Great for a romantic getaway or for families. The host was fast in getting back to us and went out of his way to ensure we had a lovely stay in Henley. Highly recommend.

“Cozy stay”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2016

Had a really nice stay at this cozy house in Henley-on-Themes with all the facilities you need for a pleasant stay. Henley-on-Thames is a small atmospheric town it's fun to explore, the house is just a few minutes walk away from the downtown area and the trainstation where it's easy to commute into London. The house is in a nice quiet neighboorhood and has a small charming garden in the back.

“Nice place to stay!”

We needed a place in the area to stay for a convention event in London, and this was a good fit for what we needed seeing as we were travelling as a bigger group of friends. The house itself was of a high standard and the Henley on Thames location is pretty nice as well! Would definitely lease again.

“Nice house - convenient location in a lovely town by the Thames”

Lovely neighbourhood, and a very nice house, only ten minutes walk from the center of Henley. Plenty of space for a family of five, and lots of activites nearby.

“Perfect for us!”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2013

Travelled to Henley for our annual golftrip. Quiet area, nice garden. Perfect house for 6 guys. Made all meals there. Close to a number of golfcourses, one within walking distance, and Friar Park home of beatle George Harrison. Beautiful scenery around Henley. Only 30 minutes from Heathrow.

Great to know you had a good time, see you again soon.
