The Oxfordshire region
There is nothing quite like the sense of freedom of cruising at your own pace and mooring up when you feel like it, exploring some of England's most picturesque countryside. This is an ideal holiday for smaller groups, couples and families.
Your cruise will take you to some of the most picturesque parts of the River Thames. Stop at Henley-On-Thames which is full of restauarants and pubs and of course hosts the famous Henley Royal Regatta and the ever popular 80's Rewind festival. You will also experience beautiful Shiplake, Bourne End, Cookham and historic Royal Windsor and Oxford(on a week's cruise or longer)
For those of you just wanting to get away from it all and spend quality time with your family and friends, then try cruising upstream to Beale Park where you can enjoy peace and tranquility in a beautiful Thames location, miles from the hustle and bustle. Beale Park is also an ideal mooring spot for children as the Beale Park Zoo is onsite. The famous White Swan pub is within easy reach (the pub where Jerome K Jerome's 'Three Men In A Boat' journey ended). Visit Pangbourne, home of Kenneth Grahame, author of Wind In The Willows. Also visit Mapledurham House and Mill, inspiration for 'Toad Hall' in 'Wind In The Willows' and also used as a film set for the film 'Where Eagles Dare' The countryside is typical 'chocolate box' English countryside and used during the filming of 'Midsommer Murders'
Visit the famous Henely Royal Regatta in July /June or why not see the Olympics as our mooring is within easy reach of the train station which has trains running regularly to London (half an hour by train from Reading to London Paddington). The annual 80's rewind Music festival in London is always popular and you can be moored within easy walking distance to the festival.
The River Rowing Museum in Henley provides interest for all the family. The parks on the banks of the Thames at Henley provide ample space for children to play, family picnics or dog walking. All ammenities are within walking distance.

"An amazing family holiday"
All information/ communication in the run up to the holiday was very good, we were greeted in a very friendly manner and had a very informative tutorial about the narrowboat and locks which put us at ease and in good sted for the rest of the holiday, the narrowboat is beautiful, clean and very comfortable with everything you could need other then food. I am 6ft2ins tall and had plenty of room both standing in the boat and laying in the double bed. We were supplied with maps of the river and recommendations of where to stop and visit. We have three children ages 14,10 and 7 and they all loved it, they were all able to help with the locks and the sailing and were all given specific jobs when we arrived which they took very seriously. The scenery was beautiful and it felt like we were in another country, the locks all had lock keepers on who were very friendly and when they weren't there due to lunch breaks the self service information meant that our 10yr old could do them unaided. we would definitely recommend to everyone, they are a lovely couple with a lovely narrowboat that beat our expectations and we would love to do it all again.
We're delighted you had a great holiday and enjoyed cruising boat GINA on the Thames. Thank you for your lovely feedback, we will pass it on to the team. Hope to see you again.
