Description from owner
Boat Gina is the perfect boat for anyone who wants to enjoy boating on the River Thames with all the comforts of home. There is nothing quite like the sense of freedom of cruising at your own pace and mooring up when you feel like it, exploring some of England's most picturesque countryside. This is an ideal holiday for smaller groups, couples and families.
Gina is perfectly designed for our guests, with 2 private, double cabins, one of which can also be made up in to twin beds. Each cabin has a wardrobe and a private access to the toilet and shower room. There is a hair dryer in the twin cabin. Gina comes equipped with: a fuel burner which makes the boat cosy and warm all the year round and there is also full central heating with radiators throughout. The kitchen comes equipped with a fridge with a small freezer unit, 4 ring gas hob, oven and grill and a full range of utensils.
There is a spacious, light and airy feel to the saloon with double glazed front windows adjacent to the front fully glazed doors. There is a dinette which is ideal for entertaining and which can also be made up into an extra 2 berths, making this perfect accommodation for 6 people. In the saloon is a TV and DVD player and IPOD dock for your entertainment.
Outside is a seating area where guests can enjoy the views of the stunning River Thames country side while you cruise and unwind at your own pace. Don't worry about driving the boat, full tuition is provided before you start your holiday and we are always on standby to assist should you need us. We are also dog friendly.
The price includes VAT, boat insurance, bed linen and towels. Diesel fuel is not included and there is a fuel supplement of £60 per booking.
Wifi is available onboard with a £75.00 security deposit which is refunded when the boat is returned.
The boat is to be brought back at 09.00hrs on the departure day.
Check in time is at 12.00pm when we do 2 hours tuition with you on the boat so you are happy and confident to drive it. This includes going through a Thames lock and truning the boat round and mooring up.
The change over days are Mondays and fridays. Our weekend breaks start on friday at 12.00pm with tuition and are 3 nights. Our 4 night mid-week breaks start on Mondays at 12.00pm with tuition and are the same price as a 3 night weekend break, you effectively get the 4th night for free.
Further details indoors
Gina has the option of either single or double berth configurations which provide the widest choice to best suit the make-up of groups. The dinnette can be made up easily into a double bed, making this accommodation for up to 6 people.
The finishing inside the boat has a fresh, modern feel without detracting from the character of living on board a narrowboat.
There are airing cupboards on board and storage for your bags, although we reccommend you leave your big suitcases at home.
There is a double window hatch in the saloon area which opens out, allowing guests to feed the swans and ducks who may come to call.
Further details outdoors
The boat has a bow deck where you can sit outside and enjoy the passing countryside as you cruise along. the stern deck is spacious, allowing room for the driver / helmsman and others.
For larger parties, why not book narrowboat Gema as well. Gema is the sister of Boat Gina and comfortably accommodates 6 people. Ask us for 10% discounts when booking 2 boats together.

- Very Good
“An amazing family holiday”
All information/ communication in the run up to the holiday was very good, we were greeted in a very friendly manner and had a very informative tutorial about the narrowboat and locks which put us at ease and in good sted for the rest of the holiday, the narrowboat is beautiful, clean and very comfortable with everything you could need other then food. I am 6ft2ins tall and had plenty of room both standing in the boat and laying in the double bed. We were supplied with maps of the river and recommendations of where to stop and visit. We have three children ages 14,10 and 7 and they all loved it, they were all able to help with the locks and the sailing and were all given specific jobs when we arrived which they took very seriously. The scenery was beautiful and it felt like we were in another country, the locks all had lock keepers on who were very friendly and when they weren't there due to lunch breaks the self service information meant that our 10yr old could do them unaided. we would definitely recommend to everyone, they are a lovely couple with a lovely narrowboat that beat our expectations and we would love to do it all again.
Owner's reply: We're delighted you had a great holiday and enjoyed cruising boat GINA on the Thames. Thank you for your lovely feedback, we will pass it on to the team. Hope to see you again.
