If you want to stay somewhere with real charm and character that's a little bit "quirky" with a fabulous garden then you will love Reddish Manor, if you want power showers, surround sound music systems, hot tubs then this isn't the place for you! Reddish Manor dates back to the 1500's. It is located within walking distance of the village of Sonning Common. The Greyhound Pub is only a a few minutes walk and Henley is approximately 8 miles away.

The house is the principle residence of the owners, unlike our other houses, you will find personal belongings throughout the house (with exception of bedrooms). The house is owned by an interior designer and an antiques dealer and you will find lots of various collections of memorabilia crammed into every available bookshelf and cupboard.

The house offers 2 twin bedrooms , 2 single bedrooms, 5 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 cloakrooms. On the ground floor there are 2 sitting rooms, dining room and large kitchen also with dining table.

There is a large garden with outdoor heated pool available from May to September.

This is a fascinating house and retains many original features. Therefore there are no en-suite bathrooms. There is a cloakroom on the ground floor and a cloakroom on the first floor. There are 2 bathrooms which have a traditional cast iron bath (circa 1920) and a sink only. There are no showers.

The Ground Floor: Kitchen with dining table and family room with large flat screen T.V, DVD & CD player. The kitchen has a large range oven, big fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The table and chairs can seat 16. French doors lead to the patio and garden.

A large sitting room with high vaulted ceiling leads from the kitchen, it has an open fire and piano. The formal dining room is also filled with antiques and the dining table can seat 10 - 12. The entrance hall also has a large open fire and seating area. The second drawing room leads from the entrance hall, again with open fireplace and flat screen T.V & DVD player. There is also a downstairs cloakroom.

The First Floor: 2 Bathrooms with bath and sink only. 1 cloakroom. 5 double bedrooms. 2 single bedrooms.

The Second Floor: 1 twin bedroom. 1 single bedroom.

Outside: Large enclosed garden with trampoline (this does not have a safety net). Outdoor heated pool heated from May until early September. Original animal shelters have been converted to provide a sort of outdoor dining room with large table and chairs overlooking the pool. There is also a Gas BBQ.

Please note the driveway is shared with the cottage next door which is occupied by tenants.

The pool and trampoline are used at your own risk. Please note the pool is not fenced off, children will need supervision.

The owners have both dogs and cats so we do not recommend this house for guests with severe allergies.

Reddish Manor is approximately 6 miles to Henley on Thames and about 10 miles from Reading.

The house is located in Sonning Common.

The house is only 30 miles from Heathrow and 24 miles from Oxford.

"Absolutely excellent, spot on!"

Went with a stag party, accommodation is absolutely excellent, host is excellent and nothing phases him - very friendly and accommodating. We stayed at the house and used the grounds through the day for games and the pool - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Not sure what else to say - brilliant!

"Beautiful old manor house, very spacious for a large group to not be on top of each other"

This property is perfect for large groups such as our hen party, the space in the house meant that everyone was not on top of each other and there were large amounts of grounds to spread out in. The house sleeps more than 16 easily as there are spare matresses that the owners provide or you can take blow up beds as there is lots of room to sleep in and have matreeses. The house also has beautiful open fires that the owners kindly lit for us. A few recommendations around the house would be to visit Anthony Warrell Thompson's pub called the Greyhound, fantastic food and a very quirky place to go to. Also Hobbs of Henly do amazing boat trips in Henley for large groups or smaller groups too. I would certainly recommend this house and also the surrounding area. The owners live on site but do not be put off as they leave you to your own devices and actually are there is you need anything at all. For your information there is one shower in one of the bathrooms which although old works perfectly. If you are worrying about the lack of bathrooms and toilets please don't there were 17 girls in our party and we did not notice the lack of bathrooms etc! Fabulous house for both summer and winter - I would highly recommend.
