Description

This is a self drive boating holiday with a unique difference. Our boat is a luxury Canal widebeam, fitted to an exceptionally high standard, an ideal holiday for families or groups of friends holidaying together.Pets are welcome too.

You pick the boat up from our base in Caversham where there is a secure locked car park. Following tuition in driving the boat, your holiday starts and you can experience the freedom of choosing where to cruise and moor. Why not cruise to Henley-On-Thames and moor in beautiful parkland setting, only a 5 minute walk to Henley town centre. The River Rowing Museum in Henley provides interest for all the family. The parks on the banks of the Thames at Henley provide ample space for children to play, family picnics or dog walking. All amenities are within walking distance.

Then continue cruising through picturesque Hurley, passing the millionaire houses, beautiful Chiltern countryside and moor in historic Marlow. Then onwards to Windsor and visit the castle or LEGOLAND for the children. For week breaks, why not cruise to Hampton Court and moor outside Hampton Court palace?

Alternatively, cruise upstream and moor overnight in Pangbourne and then up to Goring and for week breaks or longer, why not pay a visit to historic Oxford and moor right in the centre. The choice is yours. There is so much to see and do and experience on a self drive holiday and the widebeam gives you all the space you need with no cramped living conditions and private cabins for you all as well.

There is nothing quite like waking up to the sounds of wildlife and seeing herons, swans and other birds.

For those of you wishing to attend the Henley Royal Regatta or the annual 80's rewind Music festival, Boat Geanna is the perfect way to arrive in style and moor right in the heart of the action. For those of you wishing to travel further afield, why not take a short drive and visit the local winery or Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) or the Harry Potter Studios film set.

“An incredibly relaxing holiday in perfect comfort on a beautiful part of the Thames.”

From start to finish this turned out to beat many 5 star hotel holidays we had all taken. Firstly the hosts are attentive, lovely and fun. They gave us 2 informed fabulous river trips. Would thoroughly recommend the Henley to Reading stretch. The lovely welcome and the superb, well equipped standard of the boat - just as described on the website, makes it easy to take to the water instantly. Little extras like soap, tea bags and even a dishwasher tablet was the icing. The spaciousness and comfort of the main room in the boat is the surprise. And how can one not enjoy croissants, fresh coffee and the papers on a river, with a bank for a bar/b/q and restaurants to die for. We ate at The Crooked Billet, Phyllis Court and Orwells. All brilliant. All of us slept like babies and felt so relaxed as if we had taken a week off. Our ages ranged from 21 - 86yrs old! And we all LOVED it. This truly is a holiday for everyone. What a gem..... and we all agreed we were thrilled to avoid airports and shall return.
