Welcome to home-boat, Spirited Away, a 69 ft narrowboat that floats around the rural canals of England's Midlands. Here you can wake up to birdsong and the sound of a breeze through the trees. Here you can get a unique insight into life on a narrowboat. And, most importantly, here you can step out of the rush of daily life to slow down, relax and take a deep breath.
Canal life is set in nature and countryside. Whether you want to sit and gaze for a while, go hiking, do some sightseeing, read a book or get off the beaten track, there's so much here to enjoy.
Having trusty crew on hand is much easier than self-drive boating. You can enjoy all the benefits but without any of the stress or responsibilities. We cook and take care of the boat so you can do whatever you most want to. If you're interested and keen though, we'll happily teach you how to steer the boat and operate the locks.
Life afloat is a nomadic one, so we're always on the move. As wildlife and nature lovers, we tend to stick to rural areas and the countryside. If you have a particular route or destination in mind, please do mention it to us and we'll always do our best to write it into our route plans.
Getting to the boat can take a bit of planning, but we're happy to help. At a small extra cost, we can arrange a local pick-up service from your bus stop, train station, airport or car park. You're also welcome to arrive by bike and we can store it on-board throughout your stay
We charge £30 per person per night for bed & breakfast (minimum two guests). You can then add the following extra options on if you wish.
- A half-day canal cruise for £30 per person
- A full-day canal cruise for £40 per person
- Three-course lunch on board for £10 per person
- Three-course evening meal on board for £15 per person

"Time to unwind..."
This is a holiday with a difference at a very relaxed pace. The food is great (vegetarian), lots of it with Tor (owner/cook) always preparing food, cooking, or baking bread, cakes and other treats. Pootling on the canals gives one a chance to slow down and smell the roses/coffee. Tor and Kev run optional meditation sessions morning and evening. Joining in the chores (such as operating lock gates on the canal) is optional, with full instruction from Kev. Bring wellies and a rainmac in case of inclement weather. Space is quite limited on board but it takes only a short time to adapt. Definitely recommended.

"Wonderful way to spend a week"
Joined Tor for a week in October. Weather was awful, but having waterproofs meant that I could sit with Tor whilst she moved us away from the sound of the traffic. Weather improved as the week went on so that on the final day it was glorious sunshine from morning to evening. Each night Tor lit the log burner so we were warm and cosy whilst eating one of Tor's delicious vegetarian meals. Went home rested and refreshed. Thankyou Tor
