Description

The property has a very warm cosy feel and has a nautical theme with pictures of boats, sea and surf. The interior is very modern with solid oak floors and white leather furniture. The high ceiling gives an impression of much space and airiness. The patio slabbed area has a large BBQ area and table for outdoor living surrounded by trees and shrubs giving privacy. The Boathouse is ideal for a couple or single wanting a relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings yet close to the head of the river, pub and village shop. The Greek Quay boat yard is famous for it's craftsmen who build wooden cutter boats and repairs of all craft. The many beaches are very close by and Helston,Falmouth and Truro town centres are within easy reach. The Eden Project is around a 40 minute drive as is Lands End.

Location description from owner

The England region

Cornwall has some of the best weather in Britain being so far south and even in winter is known for its mild climate With the A30 road now updated driving down has never been so easy. If you want a relaxing holiday Cornwall is the place. If you want an action packed holiday Newquay is the place where it all happens with surfing, and lots for the younger person to enjoy.

Helford River

The Helford River is one of the most beautiful areas in Britain. Daphne Du Maurier wrote "Frenchmans Creek" about the area. Gweek itself is a beautiful village at the head of the Helford River and is the gateway to the famous Lizard peninsular which is the most southerly point in mainland Britain.Helston home of the Floral Dance and harbourside village of Porthleven are just a few minutes drive away. Cornwall has some of the best weather being so far south.

“Well appointed cottage, in good location with friendly owners”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2012

The boathouse looked freshly furnished, and had everything we needed, including a welcome pack in the kitchen. Although basically a single space(plus shower-room) the accommodation felt light and airy, with plenty of room for us two. The owners were welcoming and friendly, and offered suggestions for places to visit. Close to we enjoyed Loe Pool and Church Cove (Gunwalloe) and the quiet village of Gweek is ideally situated for trips to Lands End, The Lizard, St Ives & Falmouth areas. Very short walk to village shop and pub (Black Swan) serving good food! Full marks for providing an OS map of the area as well as the usual leaflets.
