Description

Hove-To is a ground-floor apartment at Helford Passage, just moments away from the Ferryboat Inn and beach. It's decorated throughout in warm cream which brings out the richness of the parquet flooring and natural wood furniture. Some of the artwork has a nautical theme, and others depict the history of the area.

As you first enter the apartment, you'll notice the large living area with its beautifully maintained wood flooring and open granite fireplace. This was the Ferryboat Hotel's Cocktail Lounge back in the 1940s, so as you sip a glass of wine in the evening, you might just be standing in the same spot as Edward's Mrs Simpson, just one famous couple who were known to frequent the hotel. Back to Hove-To though, there are two large comfy sofas and a log-burning stove in the living area, making this a great choice all year round. We'll even pop in a bag of logs to get you started. The dining area has great views of the river, and comfortably sits six

Back to Hove-To though, there are two large comfy sofas and a log-burning stove in the living area, making this a great choice all year round. We'll even pop in a bag of logs to get you started. The dining area has great views of the river, and comfortably sits six for family suppers or a challenging game of Scrabble. You'll find the kitchen on the courtyard side of the apartment. It's beautifully equipped with everything you'll need to keep the family fed and watered for the week. It's got granite worktops and a breakfast bar for early morning coffee and croissants.

Hove-To has three bedrooms: the master bedroom has a king-size bed, and a newly refurbished en-suite shower room. There are twin beds in the second bedroom, and a set of bunks in the third. All rooms have built in wardrobes and plenty of drawer space. The beds are dressed in crisp white linen. The family bathroom has a bath and overhead electric shower so there is plenty of hot water for everyone. Both bedrooms have heated towel rails to keep your towels warm and dry.

Outside, you'll find a small area area with a wooden table and chairs. You'll be facing the river, so the views are quite beautiful. It truly is a lovely spot to relax over the morning newspapers.

We'll have a bottle of wine ready for your arrival. You'll have shared use of the heated outdoor swimming pool, and there is one designated space in the residents' car park. There is a returnable £100 deposit against damages on this property.

Location description from manager

The England region

Cornwall, the home of Poldark, Jamaica Inn and the Pirates of Penzance. It's the land of pasties, sand and sunshine. Beautiful beaches, coastal walks, and award-winning gardens that thrive in our exceptionally warm micro-climate. Check out Trebah for spectacular Camellias, Rhododendrons and Magnolias. Visit Enys Gardens for a carpet of bluebells, or Glendurgan for its amazing maze.

Picnic at the outdoor Minack Theatre, stroll through our beautiful capital city, Truro, with its beautiful 20th century cathedral. Giggle at the Newquay Zoo meercats. Or visit the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, St Michael's Mount, The Geevor Tin Mine... but, whatever you chose to do in Cornwall, you'll be sure to unwind from daily stresses and just simply relax.

Helford Passage

Helford Passage is about a mile from the village of Mawnan Smith. It's on the river - the Helford, of course, with a lovely sandy beach, and direct access onto the coastal path. We've got the Ferryboat Inn on site which specialises in delicious seafood dishes and local ale.

From the beach you can catch the ferry across to Helford Village, or hire a rowing boat or kayak for the day. The kiosk sells delicious ice-creams and warm buttery popcorn.

We've got fishing trips nearby, golf, cycling, horse-riding, seaside fish and chips, and coastal walks.

Or visit Falmouth - the third largest natural harbour in the world - take a boat trip along the Carrick Waters to a smuggler's cottage, or hop on the ferry to St Mawes. Visit the Maritime Museum, great for children with its hands-on approach, or catch some Medieval jousting at Pendennis Castle.
