“Large Holiday House”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2014

We had an excellent family reunion in a house which was like a home from home. Sarah provided the little personal touches which made our annual get-together the success it was. The well kept large garden provided the play area for the children of all ages and after the party were peaceful for relaxing in. The surroundings were rural but beautiful and just the setting for the holiday we were looking for.

You were a wonderfully well organised family, so that with a piper and a great meal, your celebration obviously was a great success in the house and in the garden!

“Perfect family weekend”

A lovely spacious home with stunning grounds. We celebrated my mum and dads 50th wedding anniversary here and we could not have found a better location. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed and more and the house itself had lots of room for the family to relax. Many thanks

Thanks for your kind words, great news that celebration went well. will send the charger you left but could not locate to kitchen tongs today.

“"Relaxing break in a fabulous big house!"”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2014

Visited with a group of friends and 4 dogs. Emails from the owner very friendly and helpful. Large well contained house, very homely with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of wood/coal for the fire! Garden great for boisterous dogs! We didn't travel far as too relaxed in the house and garden! I would definitely recommend this house if looking for a relaxing break (especially as the beds were SO comfortable!!)

Lovely to read - please do return to enjoy the area again!

“The Border Experience”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2013

A note to let others know what a beautiful family orientated home that Glebe House is. It sits on the edge of a beautiful garden surrounded by small river which the children and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed. House accommodated 10 of us with ease and it felt like a home from home. Would be happy to recommend. Kelso well worth a vist

We love it too - so it is special to know that you have appreciated its ambiance.

“Superior, luxury accommodation amidst stunning, spectacular Border scenery”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2013

Glebe House is a character gem set within spectacular scenic grounds and Border Countryside. Spacious, beautifully furnished and supported by an owner whose planning and organisational skills leave nothing to chance for a hugely enjoyable holiday. Walking, Fishing, Clay Shooting, Tourist sites i.e. Flodden Battlefield are there to enjoy. Distractions of Pheasants strutting the lawns can be overcome by a huge glass of malt by a roaring log-fire. Relaxing, peaceful, excellent shops (Learmonth Butchers in Jedburgh with Scotch Pies to kill for !!!). Very superior holiday accommodation, a truly fabulous place.

I can see that you really enjoyed your stay and participated in all sorts of activities that are available within range-thanks so much!

“WONDERFUL WEEKEND AT GLEBE HOUSE”

Reviewed 1 May 2013

eight of us have just spent a fantastic four days at Glebe House. The house is so large and comfortable lots of fuel for the fire. Hundreds of books and lots of board games. every room is very well equipped nothing you would need to take for your stay, The garden is lovely with a stream running at the bottom of the lawn. Kirk yetholm and Morebattle pretty villages nearby serve delicious food. we would definetely recommend this place and we will be returning next year.

So glad you liked Glebe House and wish to return again next year. Yes the local hostelries are now catering for 'foodies' and serving excellent fare. Many opportunities to sample local ingredients from Tweed salmon to Border lamb!

“a truly amazing house, beautiful, quiet location and extremely helpful owner!”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2013

Glebe house is one of the most beautiful houses I have had the pleasure of staying in, it's location is quiet and the views are second to none! There a plenty of walks on the doorstep, a few of which we had the pleasure of tackling on our stay, these would also make brilliant mountain bike trails (here's wishing I had taken my bike!) The grounds are also stunning and with the mass of outdoor games supplied at the house you could have a week of fun withou even going out the gate! With the main town of Kelso being just a 15minute drive down the road it's easy to stock up on anything you might need, we also traveled to a couple of local castles in the area which were great for a day out! Berwick upon tweed is about 40 mins drive and is a lovely seaside town with possibly the best fish and chips I have ever had. All in all a brilliant long weekend and I can't wait to go back!!

Thanks for such a happy sounding review - we agree - it is a great mountain biking area, and as for the fish and chips in Berwick, I will have to suggest that to others too. You may also hire a skippered boat and fish off shore next time!

“A fantastic place for a large number of guests, superbly equipped in every respect.”

A quiet, peaceful and comfortable house. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with a river running around the perimeter of the garden. It was beautifully kept and had many areas to explore for children. Lots of fun games and jigsaws for adults and children alike. Each room was incredibly well equipped especially the kitchen and dining room. The open fire was supplied with plentiful logs and coal. Warm beds each with electric blankets were a nice surprise! Wifi was very useful to keep in touch with life if you felt the need. It was a real 'home from home'. Many books on different topics were available to read and the children loved late night stories of William Wallace.

Thanks so much for a lovely review - clearly showing me that you had enjoyed a very happy time at Glebe House with your extended family.

“Charming Family House in a peaceful rural setting.”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2013

Very peaceful location. House ideal for family groups enjoying walks and family games around a log fire. House well equipped and spacious and lovely garden and wildlife. Remote location makes for poor mobile phone reception. Some of us think this a bonus. Bulging bookshelves mean that it would be difficult to run out of reading material.

thank you for your review - we appreciate the time you took to do this following your stay.
