4 Star rated with Gold Award - Swallows' Nest is a surprisingly spacious extended 19th century former lead miner's cottage, situated at the end of a terrace of such cottages, enjoying a very peaceful setting on the edge of the village of Hebden, close to Grassington. The cottage has been extensively renovated and refurbished to a high standard, and retains much of its original character, with fully beamed ceilings downstairs, exposed stonework, an inglenook-style fireplace in the lounge and double-glazing throughout. There are solid oak floors downstairs and some low doorways, making this an interesting property which has been pleasantly decorated and very well equipped. TV now updated to 37" flatscreen LCD HD ready.
The cottage has full oil-fired central heating— all fuel and power is provided and included. Also provided are: towels, bed linen, tea towels, iron and ironing board, and a small selection of games, books, maps, DVDs & CDs, DAB and Internet radio and Ipod Docks.
We are sure you will find the cottage welcoming, cosy, comfortable, and a peaceful place to unwind and relax.

The Yorkshire region
This is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. It is wonderful walking country with footpaths galore and the River Wharfe nearby with the Dales Way running alongside. It is 20 mins from Skipton that calls itself the 'Gateway to the Dales' and close to Grassington, Kilnsey, Pately Bridge, Malham and Settle, this is a wonderful base from which to explore the lovely Yorkshire Dales. There are many lovely pubs within a 10 mile radius that serve excellent food, and one is only 200 yards away from Swallows' Nest! Also the Dales have lots of delightful tea rooms to visit and again Hebden boasts its own! Very convenient if you like a drink with your meal. If you've never seen the Dales then don't miss out - a unique landscape created by a mix of beautiful white Limestone with its fascinating features and Yorkshire Gritstone.
Grassington is very popular and well worth a visit - also the Victorian Fayre at Grassington each December is wonderful. Nearby places to visit inlcude Stump Cross Caverns with superb range of stalagmites and unusual rock formations; Kilnsey Trout Farm with fly fishing, nature trail with red squirrels and restaurant; How Stean Gorge near Pateley Bridge; Skipton with its ancient castle, lovely parish church, markets on 4 days a week, canal boat trips, cinema, shopping facilities, and many restaurants; Bolton Abbey Estate with ruins of 12th century priory and the parish church, the river Wharfe flowing through with 'The Strid' , tea rooms and 80 miles of footpaths; Parceval Hall Gardens with 16 acres of beautiful woodland gardens, pools, streams and rock gardens; Ingleton Waterfalls walk, 4 and half miles circular walk via spectacular waterfalls; Embsay and Bolton Steam Railway; Yorkshire Dales Falconry and Wildlife Conservation Centre; and Country pursuits at Coniston Hall with fishing, Land Rover experience, and shooting ground. Further affield there is the ancient City of York, Bronte Country (Haworth), and the Lake District all within easy motoring distance.

"Wonderful cottage in beautiful location in the Dales"
My husband and our 2 teenage children stayed at the Swallows Nest cottage for a week. We were very happy with our stay. Plenty of room for the 4 of us, tastefully decorated, everything you could possibly need and more was provided, it was very clean and thoughtfully equipped. Hebden is a small, quiet village, surrounded by interesting walks and trails. There is an excellent pub (Clarendon Hotel) at the end of the lane serving tasty meals, although the cottage is amply equipped if you prefer to cook yourself. The village also has a small post office/shop for essentials and a very nice tea room. Grassington is only a short drive away. Highly recommended for a relaxing break and Yorkshire Dales exploration.
