Location description from owner

The West Yorkshire region

Hebden Bridge is on the Yorkshire side of The Pennines, in an area of great natural beauty.

Beyond are the cities of Manchester, Leeds and York, all within easy reach by road or by train.

Hebden Bridge

A Yorkshire market town quite unlike any other, the vibrant and creative Hebden Bridge is home to a fantastic selection of small independent shops and cafes, galleries and offers a year-round programme of community events.

The award-winning Trades Club hosts bands from around the country and through the decades, and the community-owned Picturehouse cinema offers a selection of current and classic art house films.

The area has a rich literary history - the Bronte sisters lived just a few away in Haworth. The American poet, Sylvia Plath is buried at Heptonstall, and the poet laureate, Ted Hughes, was born locally in Mytholmroyd.

The National Trust manages nearby Hardcastle Crags, a beautiful wooded valley with deep ravines, waterfalls, mill ponds and the newly restored Gibson Mill.

There are daytrips on narrowboats along the canal, flea markets, farmers' markets, interesting architecture and a number of parks and playgrounds for children. In fact, there is simply too much to mention! Come along and explore our wonderful little town and see what treasures you find...
