“Great little get away, all you need in a nice cosy environment!”

Reviewed 12 Feb 2015

Really pleasant New Year stay our hosts were both very accommodating and ensured we had enough logs for the burner during the cold days and evenings.

“charming and well presented holiday-cottage for couples”

nice cottage, nice and helpful owners, lovely views. Good area for walking and cycling. Many interesting NT-properties nearby. Heathfield has some nice shops and two supermarkets. It takes twnty minutes to walk to the centre. Indian restaurant recommended

“a beautiful little barn - relaxing and peaceful place to escape”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2014

Cuckoo barn has excellent facilities as well as very friendly hosts who made sure I had everything I needed. The place looks like it has just been finished - everything seems new and it felt comfortable and cosy. Although within reach of local shops etc in Heathfield, the barn is in a peaceful area overlooking genuine countryside and it is the sort of place you can relax and unwind. Some useful extras - wifi, free parking and a little wood burning stove. I will definitely be staying there again.

“A relaxing stay in an idillic setting in a beautifully finished cottage.”

We were looking for a couple of days to kick back and relax after recent stresses. This was a beautifully finished small barn conversion, extremely clean and comfortable with fantastic views. The owners were in an adjacent farmhouse and were very welcoming, with a lovely welcome basket, and a present of some fresh eggs from their own hens (delicious!) a short trip to the town of Heathfield with some wonderfully quaint curiosity shops, resaturants and takeaways. A short drive took us to the beautiful Ashdown Forest, where we just had to seek out "pooh bridge' for a game of Pooh sticks!! All in all a lovely place, run by lovely people, we will definitely be staying here again.
