The Cottage has been awarded (May 2014) with a "TripAdvisor 2014 Certificate of Excellence" This prestigious award recognizes holiday homes that consistently earn top ratings from TripAdvisor travellers.
Fuzzy Duck Cottage is a pretty traditional cottage, approximately 115 years old, situated in the centre of the thriving village of Heacham. Within close walking distance of all the village amenities and a 15 minute walk to the beach, the cottage provides an ideal base for a holiday in North Norfolk. The accommodation has been carefully refurbished to a very high standard throughout. Real fire ideal for cosy nights in. Both TVs include DVD players, plus a Wii games console. A selection of videos are also available, plus a number of board games. Large enclosed rear garden with BBQ. The cottage is always spotlessly clean & a generous welcome pack greets all guests. Two adult bikes also provided.
Walking distance from 3 pubs that all serve good food, 2 traditional butchers, one off licence & Fish and Chip Shop. For lovers of continental food, the village also offers an Indian & Chinese Restaurant. Heacham also offers a Tesco Express & small Co-op store for your everyday essentials. Hunstanton (5 min drive) has "full-blown" Tesco/Sainsburys.
For those that like the finer things in life, we are a stones throw from Bradfield's - probably one of the areas very best shops, selling everything from Hardware, kitchen ware to beautiful & unusual furniture - well worth a visit!
For golfers there's a number of fine golf courses within close proximity, including Heacham Manor.
For those that love wild life, its not unusual to see seals swimming from the beach, with seal trips also available in nearby Blakeney. Heacham is also ideally suited for bird watching being only a short distance from a number of brilliant nature reserves (Titchwell/Snettisham). There are 3 sets of binoculars in cottage.
For those with younger children/teenagers there's the funfair at Hunstanton.
Hopefully our reviews of the cottage speak for themselves!
If we've missed anything in the above, we are only too happy to answer any question or provide additional photos. Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Although the cottage sleeps 5, we are happy to discuss small discounts for couples only wishing to use one bedroom in the off peak seasons. Generally our change over days are Saturday to Saturday - but during less busy periods we are happy to discuss other days. Also out of season we are more than happy to accommodate midweek breaks. Please inquire.

"Great cottage, really well equipped and comfortable"
Had high expectations after reading all the good reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The owners have put in so much attention to detail, everything you could think of was provided, and everything was to a high standard. We brought our 9 month old baby, and he slept beautifully in the comfy cot provided. There was even a hooded baby bath towel waiting for him! The garden was lovely too, he enjoyed practicing his walking out there. Quiet village location, about 15 mins walk to the beach and a short drive into hunstanton. We went on the seal trip which was good as well. Highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore north Norfolk.
Thank you for the excellent review we never tire of getting positive feedback. And we love hearing that families enjoy the cottage, village and area as much as we do. Hopefully we can welcome you back another time. Regards Dave and Helen.

This is a great cottage with everything you need in a quiet but convenient location. I traveled here with my partner and our 3 month old daughter. We wanted somewhere quiet, but where we could access places for day trips. This didn't disappoint with Sandringham and Wells-next-the-sea (amongst others) easily accessible. The cottage itself is very nice, with probably everything you need. It is in a quiet location with a great garden for outside drinking and eating, yet is only a short walk from local amenities. The owners were also always prompt to reply to any queries and questions (about both the cottage and the local area). We would definitely rent this cottage again!!
Thank you for the very generous review, it really is appreciated, especially as we did have a couple of hick-ups, one that was my fault & one that was BTs. Thanks again for being so understanding. You'd be very welcome back any time. Regards Dave & Helen.

"Perfect place to stay"
This was our second stay at the property and once again it exceeded our expectations, especially with the improvments to the garden (which is large, enclosed and perfect for young wandering children!). As we have two young children the stair gates are a fab addition and a highchair was also provided for us, plenty of space indoors as well for them to run around. We will most definitely be booking a third stay next year.
Thank you for taking the trouble to do the review especially as you've done one after your first visit. It's also nice to hear you like the small improvement we've been making. Since you left we've also replaced the bed and mattress in the second bedroom and the mattress in the bunk bed. We look forward to you visiting us again. Regards Dave and Helen.

"Excellent Cottage, excellent location - just perfect"
We spent a brilliant week at Fuzzy Duck Cottage, having stayed there the previous year. When we arrived the cottage was spotless, and a lovely welcome pack was waiting for us, the kids (11, 8 and 2 1/2) quickly disappeared out into the big garden, which has been improved since our last visit, with a comfy sitting area. Our youngest had the smallest bedroom, which fitted his travel cot in easily, and the stair-gates at the top and bottom of the stairs kept him safe. The kitchen is well equipped, but the chip-shop just 5 minutes away serves the best fish and chips we have tasted in a long time! Heacham is lovely, and has two beaches only a few minutes drive away. Hunstanton is close by with a lovely beach, aquarium and fun fair. The cottage is perfectly placed for day trips to Sandringham, Holkham, RSPB Titchwell, Castle Rising, Langham Glass to name a few. Also Farmer Fred's play barn at Norfolk Lavender is perfect for colder/rainy days to let the kids (and adults) let off steam! This is our second year at Fuzzy Duck and we cannot fault it, and we can't wait to come back again!
Thank you so much for the brilliant review. And we hope to see you again next year. Also chuffed that you liked the improvements to the garden. PS thank you also for the brilliant photography you shared with us. Regards Dave & Helen.

"Fab place to Stay"
It was our second vacation staying at Fuzzy Duck and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The place makes you feel that you are at home and is quite spacious with everything you need. The improvements to the garden are very nice and you can spend a cosy evening relaxing outside. I would recommend this place to couples and small families You have a nice welcome pack and everything you need to know is at hand. You get a nice welcome phone call from the owners on arrival
Thank you for the very kind review. Really pleased you liked the garden - John our next door neighbour (and brilliant handyman in emergencies) did most of the hard work with myself & Helen doing the labouring!

"Fantastic holiday home"
Fuzzy duck is a very comfortable holiday cottage. Everything you need is provided. The cottage was very clean and the owners are extremely helpful. The welcome pack is a nice touch. Heacham has a lovely beach within walking distance and the walk to Hunstanton is great. The local chip shop, " the fish bar" is well worth a visit. The best fish and chips we've had in a long time. Easily accessible and very comfortable. Recommend to anyone wishing to visit the area.
Thank you for the great review its very much appreciated. Regarding the fish & chip shop, couldn't agree more, very good fish & chips & friendly service. Having said that, the local pubs are also excellent with lots of choice. There's also a very good and slightly more expensive one in Titchwell (called Eric's) very upmarket & they serve beer & wine!. So glad you all enjoyed your stay. Hope we can welcome you back another time. Dave & Helen.

"5* For The Duck"
Spent the Easter weekend here with friends, and glad we did, it was perfect. Heacham is a good location for getting to all the best bits of North Norfolk, and the cottage is in a nice quiet location too. Very well equipped, good space for a cottage and tastefully decorated to feel like a home and not a holiday rental. Highly recommended.
Thank you for the excellent review. It's very much appreciated and as always we are glad to hear our guests enjoy the cottage and the village as much as we do.

"A wonderful home from home"
Firstly i want to say what a lovely couple Helen and Dave are. they were exceptionally welcoming and hospitable. Their cottage was lovely, and tastefully decorated. The welcome basket was full to the brim with goodies, including a bottle of wine, bottles of beer and so much more. There was even shampoo/conditioner and toiletries in the bathroom. the bedrooms were very cosy and comfortable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return to Fuzzy Duck without a doubt.
Hi Alistair & friends - thank you for the review its really appreciated & never taken for granted. Hopefully we can welcome you back some time. Regards Dave & Helen.
