Chancery Cottage, located in perfect location in centre of Hay-on-Wye, is a pretty welcoming Welsh stone Cottage. 4* Self Catering, Free Wifi, Private Parking & Pet Friendly. Easy walking distance to everything that charming Hay town has to offer. Chancery is a beautiful traditional stone cottage with oak-beams, yet contemporary & stylish finish & fully equipped. It is spacious yet cosy with a large sitting room and newly fitted sit-in kitchen which is fully equipped for your stay & has dishwasher, washing machine, freezer, fridge & microwave. An electric wood burner in the living room is ideal to sit in front reading your gems from the local bookshops. Ground floor spacious bathroom with free standing bath and fabulous separate shower. Pretty stone walled patio at the rear which is ideal to enjoy the summer sunshine. Private parking is provided. Pet Friendly. Chancery Cottage has been described as a charming retreat ideal for a romantic get-away, a fantastic break, or time off to enjoy the countryside and the local bookshops, antique and gift shops that 'The Town of Books' in Hay-on-Wye has to offer.

In Spring this charming row of stone cottages have a beautiful cascade of colourful hanging baskets, a beautiful sight for visitors staying and passers-by to enjoy.

The large comfortable living room with a log burner effect electric fire and comfortable seating. Smart LED TV with DVD player and DAB radio/CD player connection. Included is fibre optic broadband giving you the fastest uploads and streaming for the smart tv and your personal devices. The Kitchen has a superb fitted kitchen offering you everything you need for your stay. The bathroom is on the ground floor and with a beautiful roll top bath and a separate shower unit with a wonderful powerful shower rose for a relaxing shower. Upstairs two bedrooms with very comfortable beds - front larger bedroom and second smaller bedroom. The front bedroom has a standard 4ft 6" double bed and wardrobe with chest of drawers. The second bedroom has a 4ft bed, limited hanging space and a chest of drawers. Both rooms have deep comfortable mattresses with Melin Tregwynt throws to add a splash of Welsh colour.

A rear secluded patio with garden furniture to enjoy the sunshine. Private parking is provided. You can enjoy Chancery Cottage without having a car as there are regular buses from Hereford and Brecon/Abergavenny and the bus stop is approximately a few minutes walk to the cottage.

Getting around

The most convenient way to see Hay town itself is to walk - You can stroll out from the Chancery Cottage to get the morning paper, delicious home cooked breakfast, browsing the book, clothes and gift shops or visit the superb cafes, restaurants and local cinema. There are lovely walks by the River Wye, around the Castle and the Warren (great for the dogs to have a run). There are buses from Hay to the local towns and tourist attractions. For ease if you have your own car, or can hire one, the Brecon Beacons is breath taking with superb walks to suit all levels or walkers or cyclists. You can hire bicycles or take a canoe down the Wye - all good fun and all very accessible.

Guests will be greeted at the cottage or given instructions regarding key collection. A detailed file will be available with all instructions of how to use appliances in the cottage and useful numbers. There are also suggestions for local walks, eating out and local attractions. There will be contact details if you need anything during your stay. There is also a departure check list to ensure the cottage is left how you found it.

“Lovely cottage in a great location”

Title says it all really, centrally located within Hay on Wye, no where is more than 5 mins walk. Cosy cottage with good size bedrooms, comfortable beds, good kitchen and outdoor area to relax in. Would recommend to anyone going to Hay.

Great little place - in amongst everything but quiet. Loads of great food and drink options and great dog walks starting less than 5 minutes away. Lovely to leave the car alone and just meander around all the great little shops in gorgeous Hay.

“A wonderfully comfortable and cosy cottage”

Never been to Hay before and picked this cottage because of the lovely photos - definitely the right choice. It's in a quiet, peaceful cul-de-sac but very central so easy walking distance to the shops. The cottage itself was cosy, clean and extremely comfortable (especially the beds) and fully equipped. Great shower too. There's a lovely garden - although given the time of year it was sadly too cold to sit out. Great welcome from the owners who couldn't have been more knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely pay a return visit.
