Description

Beautiful Yorkshire stone cottage which is over 200 years old. Following the success of our other cottage The Old Dairy, we decided to convert another part of our property back to it's original structure - a pretty cottage for 2. The 2 properties are ideal for 2 couples who like to holiday together but prefer their own space.

This beautiful Yorkshire stone barn conversion is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our ethos is 'Affordable Luxury' and our guests comfort is a priority. The cottage has a log burning stove which creates not only a cosy warm environment but a lovely atmosphere. We have tried to think of and provide you with all the lovely comforts of home such as WiFi, Freeview TV, DVD player, fluffy towels and robes and a gorgeous bed with pocket sprung mattress.

Peace and quiet are guaranteed in this rural setting - a real get away destination but easily accessible to many of the treasures Yorkshire has to offer.

Our reservation policy is very flexible - book in when you like and leave when you like. We don't insist on set days for short breaks to start and end. For short break prices please enquire directly. Minimum stay 2 nights from January to the end of March and 3 nights fro April to the end of October.

Self catering does not always mean you have to cook for yourselves. We have a 5 star hygiene certificate from the Food Service Advisory Service so we can cook freshly prepared evening meals. Please ask for the current seasonal menu.

The Courtyard is luxurious and the attention to detail is stunning. Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy towels, log burner, dishwasher, drinks chiller and a really smart coffee machine are just a few of the treats in store. We have combined the charm of a traditional cottage with the contemporary styling.

The comfortable and spacious property provides a perfect environment for a relaxing and special holiday.

“Great”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2017

The cottage was great, very fancy and decorated to a high standard. The log burner is excellent and cosy. The owners were amazing: very friendly and welcoming. The bed is incredibly comfy however there is no curtain or blind in the velux to block out the morning light. I would book again, however I wouldn't do it through 'Holiday Lettings' as they charge £40 booking fee! I would probs ring the owners directly. Overall, highly recommended! Matt

Owner's reply: Thanks Matt for your great review. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay in the cottage. The window blind has been mentioned and I have just ordered a black out blind to rectify the problem of the morning sun! Hopefully if you decide to return you won't be troubled by it again. It was lovely meeting you both. Kind regards, Dawn

The cottage is beautiful. It's beautifully decorated and situated in a stunning village with amazing views (even in November!). We had such a lovely time there and will certainly be back! Everything you could want is available there and the cottage is located within easy drive of a number of places. Affordable luxury was definitely achieved!

“perfect stay for some rest and relaxation.”

we booked this cottage for a week to visit the Harrogate flower show and enjoy the peace and quiet the area has to offer. the Cottage offered excellent value for money with very high quality. we were impressed with the whole experience. the cottage was immaculately clean throughout and had everything you could wish for. The hosts were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. McKenzie's smoke house was a gorgeous place to go for breakfast and was only a five minute drive away. the views from the cottage was spectacular I doubt I would ever get sick of looking. I could not rate this cottage any higher. I really cant think of one negative thing to say about it. it was very tastefully decorated and had a cosy fire which we only needed to use one night which was a bit disappointing as it was so romantic. the owner Dawn left a bottle of wine and beautiful roses for us which I thought was a lovely touch. this is a perfect place to stay to visit Harrogate for a lovely shopping experience,

Owner's reply: Thank you so much Jackie for your lovely review of The Courtyard. It makes all the hard work worth while when we get comments like yours! Hopefully we will see you again sometime. Thank you so much

“Beautiful cottage for a relaxing retreat”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2016

We loved every moment of our stay here. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very cosy, the wood burner s lovely for a chilly evening and the whole place is so relaxing. The bed is one of the most comfy I have ever slept in, I wanted to take it home!! Dawn cooked us a wonderful meal on the Saturday night and there is a great pub just down the road. If you are looking to get away from it all for a few days but still have access to Harrogate if you fancy exploring it is perfect. We will most certainly be back later in the year. Thank You!

“"Wow" what an absolute gem of a find”

Fantastic cottage warm cosy get away from it all weekend, could not even be dampened by the cold, wet, windy, snowy weather. Can't wait to return soon.

Owner's reply: Dear Chris, thank you so much for your great review. I look forward to seeing you again and cooking for you! Best wishes.

“Fantastic!”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2015

It was just fantastic! The cottage is extremely nice and comfortable. Everything was very clean and tidy and the owner had thought of everything. She is very professional in every aspect. Another positive point is that we didn't have to go to a shop and buy wood for the fireplace as there was a constant supply of logs free of charge. All in all it is one of the very best cottages that we have visited so far and I can highly recommend it!

“Wish we could have stayed longer.”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2015

From start to finish our stay was delightful. I'll try not to repeat what other reviewers have written but agree with them. If you are wondering whether to book, don't hesitate. Simple extra stuff like a bottle of milk in the fridge, flowers, wine and dressing gowns in the wardrobe made us feel like welcome guests, not just customers. Many thanks for a great break.

“A little Gem”

A nice getaway cottage for a relaxing week in the Dales. Dawn was very helpful and her dinner's were great. The cottage is well equipped and even has a wine cooler. We just loved it.

“Absolutely Delightful Stay”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2014

First visit to The Courtyard and it was delightful, both the cottage and Dawn's warm welcome. Dawn was so helpful with her knowledge of the area and local eateries. We especially enjoyed the Evening Meal she cooked for us, delicious. Our time spent at The Courtyard passed all too quickly for us but we took with us such happy memories of our visit........thank you once again, Dawn.
