Location description from owner

The Yorkshire region

Harrogate is an ideal base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Wolds. The surrounding countryside is just stunning ideal to explore by car, on foot and by bicycle. There are many wonderful historic houses and gardens to explore, Newby Hall, Harewood House, Beningborough Hall, Castle Howard, Ripley Castle to name just a few. There are outside spaces such as Brimham Rocks, Nidderdale, Fountains Abbey and Studley, Bolton Abbey and the Strid.

For those who love the beach and coast Bridlington, Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay are all within reach. The historic city of York is a wonderful place to explore and is just 30 minutes by train or car from Harrogate. And for families wanting a little more of a 'thrill' Lightwater Valley theme park is a 40 minute drive. It would be really hard to take advantage of all Yorkshire has to offer.

Harrogate

Harrogate is one of Yorkshire's most elegant destinations with an abundance of historic buildings and an enviable amount of green space and well tended public gardens. An ideal location for a long weekend, or spend a little longer here and find time to explore further afield.

Harrogate may be famous for Betty's tearoom, established in Harrogate in 1919, and the luxurious Turkish baths, still popular tourist attractions, but it also offers an array of classy cafes with a trendy café culture. The Montpelllier area of the town offers a selection of small independent shops to include antiques, galleries, high end fashion, food and so much more! The nearby Valley gardens, some 17 acres, provides an ideal picnic location and place to relax. Just a short walk away is RHS Harlow Carr offering a truly wonderful display of plants throughout the year and boasts a further Betty’s tearooms!

The Royal Hall Theatre, a stunning Edwardian concert hall, and the Harrogate International Centre are two world-class venues hosting internationally acclaimed events from classical music and comedy to popular music. Harrogate Theatre also offers a varied programme, including the annual Comedy Festival held every autumn.

Harrogate is home to the annual Great Yorkshire Show, a Speciality Food Show and the Spring and Autumn Flower Festivals.

For those looking for more ‘physical’ activity it makes a great base to cycle out from to explore the dales or Yorkshire Wolds and of course there is limitless wonderful walking to be done. Harrogate is also home to Yorkshire's premier indoor climbing centre.

In summary Harrogate has something for everyone and so much more than we can mention here!

“Beautiful apartment.”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2016

Beautiful apartment. Very clean, comfortable and just like home (but better). The whole apartment was spotless. Great position, with easy parking. A special touch was coffee, tea, milk and home made cake on our arrival. We thought it was terrific value and look forward to returning.

This flat is in a good location , nice view, comfortable and cozy . The owner is very nice and responsible . We stayed here for Christmas and the flat had a nice Christmas tree and others ornament, from the flat you are minutes away from the Harrogate town center . Everything in the flat look new and clean, we also were happy to parking our car inside the building . This is really a five star place to stay and enjoy

“Beautifully appointed apartment in excellent location.”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2014

The apartment is beautifully appointed, with luxurious fittings and all of the highest quality. We were within easy walking distance of Harrogate town centre and all its attractions. Complementary tea, coffee, milk and sugar were very welcome and also the delicious cakes. Complementary toiletries were also provided. We had a most enjoyable stay and would happily return to this excellent apartment.

“Smart Apartment within Walking Distance of Harrogate Town”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2014

This apartment is very conveniently situated for walking into the town yet just a short distance from the 'country' feel of The Stray. The kitchen and lounge are large and tastefully furnished. Beds are very comfortable. The little luxury touches were very much appreciated.

“Excellent apartment in great location”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2014

The apartment is in an excellent location just a short walk from the centre of town. Everything you could need is provided plus those little extras such as tea coffee milk and a wonderful homemade lemon drizzle cake.. These extras made our stay even more enjoyable. The apartment is immaculate and the finish to a high quality. There was an abundance of information relating to places of interest to visit and also places to eat. Gillian's recommendations were followed and we weren't disappointed we would certainly stay again should we return to Harrogate

“Excellent accommodation for both work and leisure”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2014

We had the pleasure of staying at Park Court for a conference in the Harrogate Conference Centre, and the cost of the accommodation was cheaper than a lot of hotels we looked at, plus offered much more comfort. The apartment was so much larger than expected, with comfortable sofas and beds, but it was the lttle things that made it: both bedrooms had hairdryers as well as a corner with a mirror, shelf, stool and electrical socket; toiletries in both bathrooms; a large supply of tea (green and black), coffee (instant and ground), sugar, milk and of course a wonderful freshly made lemon drizzle cake. The kitchen also has kitchen roll, cloths, washing powders, washing up liquid, and foil and cling film. The living room held a selection of DVDs, CDs, games, books and local information guides. There was a little road noise in the bedrooms (however I do sleep with my window wide open), but we did not hear any noise from other apartments. The car park was safe and private, and had space for two cars. The conference centre was a 15 minute walk away, the Stray right on the doorstep, and a host of restaurants and shops within a 10 minute stroll. Gillian was an excellent host and very warm and welcoming - even offering to carry up our bags as the lift was out of order at the time of arrival. We will certainly book again if our conference returns to Harrogate; and independently, are thinking of returning with family and friends in the near future.

“Perfect place to stay”

Reviewed 5 Apr 2014

This is a beautifully appointed apartment, very conveniently located for the town centre. We were able to entertain guests for a meal, with everything we needed to make the occasion a real pleasure. It was particularly nice to be able to offer secure parking to our visitors. We very much appreciated the home-made cake left by Gillian to welcome us. We hope to stay again in due course.

“First Class Apartment in a Great Location”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2014

My friend and I stayed in the apartment so that we could attend the Country Living Fair, do some christmas shopping and generally relax - it met our needs perfectly The apartment is well equipped, luxurious and scrupulously clean. It is in a great location, only a ten minute walk into town or the train station - we went to York on the train and it was very convenient and easy. Gillian is very welcoming and helpful, always replied very quickly to my e-mails and definitely helped to make our stay even more memorable. I have told all my friends about this lovely apartment and I would love to return one day.

“This apartment has style!”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2013

This apartment was the perfect venue for our holiday with friends ... it has style, comfort, a great view and Gillian the owner made us very welcome indeed. It was easy to book in the first place and lived up to all our expectations. The Welcome Pack was a real bonus ... and the homemade Victoria sponge slices were very much appreciated! The apartment is conveniently situated a short walk from the town centre and has many shops, restaurants and cafes within easy reach. We hope to stay there again and will be recommending it to anyone interested in staying in this lovely part of Yorkshire.
