Macably Cottage 1 Harlyn Mews in Harlyn Bay is only a minutes (flat) walk to the award winning family friendly beach of Harlyn Bay , an immaculately presented three bedroom end of terrace cottage, awarded a 4 **** rating from the Cornish Tourist Board. The cottage boasts a master bedroom with en-suite facility, a family bathroom, a further large double bedroom and a single room with bunk beds all located on the first floor. Each bedroom has ample storage with dressing tables, chest of drawers and wardrobes with plenty of hanging space.
In the living room we have a large wall hung television with freeview, a DVD player, separate music system, PS2 and a selection of games, a payphone is available for guests use as is broadband.
Macalby Cottage is in an area designated for its outstanding natural beauty, the beach is only a minutes walk away. Harlyn Bay is approximately half a mile wide with fine golden sand at the back of a sweeping open bay, with only a few houses which gives a lovely remote feel. There are low rocky headlands at each end of the bay ideal for rock pooling. Life guards are in attendance from Easter through to the end of summer, the beach is dog friendly all year round. The Marine Conservation Society's Good Beach Guide lists Harlyn, nearby Constantine Bay and Treyarnon as being of "excellent" standard.

On the ground floor we have an entrance hallway with hanging space for coats, a w.c, large living room with two comfortable sofas, kitchen, dining room with patio doors opening directly onto the rear garden which has ample seating and a good quality teak table and chairs, we have also provided a BBQ for guests use.
The garden is particularly suitable for small children and dogs because it is completely enclosed. We have separate access to the house via a covered side passage with a door at each end, we have installed a shower so you can come directly off the beach and wash down without having to go through the house, all the wetsuits and boards are stored here. The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard with all the usual implements, from glasses/mugs/cutlery to lemon squeezers and champagne glasses, with a microwave, dishwasher and a washer-dryer. All windows to the property are double glazed and the house is warm and comfortable. Duvets, good quality bedlinen, blankets, towels and tea towels (including beach towels) are all provided as is a travel cot and high chair for young children.
We have provided a selection of 24 wetsuits in various sizes, from children's to XX large, together with a selection of quality body boards for guests use.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Designated car parking is provided for 2/3 cars. The house also has its own private, enclosed side access, private (enclosed) garden with outside teak table chairs and bench, and a BBQ. Outside storage provided for our wetsuits and boards (large selection available for guests use only) and a retractable clothes line.

“Very well equipped cottage”
Jackie has thought of everything you could possibly need and the house is extremely dog friendly. The wetsuits,body boards and outdoor shower are so useful. Lovely to be able to stroke round the corner to the beach.

“Comfortable Macalby Cottage”
Macalby Cottage is a lovely, comfortable cottage in a perfect location. Harlyn Bay is just 2 minuets walk from the cottage and is a beautiful beach. There are amazing cliff walks easily accessed from the beach. Padstow is a short drive with wonderful restaurants, pubs and shops. The cottage has everything you need and more - we loved our stay.

“Fantastic family holiday home really close to the beach.”
A great place to go with the whole family...including the dog. A relaxed and well-equipped cottage close to the beach and Harlyn Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there with 3 generations and the dog - lots of space and excellent support and communication from the owner. Recommend it and now working out when we can visit again. Many thanks for sharing your home with us.
The house is in a lovely location near the beach, which is perfect for surfing and dog walking. Inside is well laid out with an open plan feel down stairs and a changing room next to the house for all my wet gear and surfing equipment. This is our third visit and we will be returning in 2013
“A real home from home!”
The cottage is compact but incredibly well equipped and the beach could hardly be closer. Hope to be back again soon!
