It is a stunning area with a separate indoor dining area and a tv and seating area too...sit in our huge hot tub on the deck at night and enjoy the view!

Inside, there is a huge amount of communal entertaining space, an open-plan kitchen and a stunning brand new log burner which is heaven to light and watch on cold Winter evenings. The house is very well insulated and for years we never had a fire because we didn't need one but we would never give it back now as it adds hugely to the atmosphere of the house, especially during the Winter months when the house is increasingly popular for birthday parties, long weekends of walking and golf, or an escape from normal day to day life!

Furnished to an incredibly high standard, this 5 bedroom coastal home provides you with the perfect base to explore the spectacular North Cornish beaches, relax and unwind in the space, comfort and privacy of the house and garden itself and enjoy breathtaking sunsets. Amenities are plentiful including a plethora of restaurants, golf at Trevose (1 mile away), a cycle along the Camel Trail, scenic coastal cliff strolls, a visit to picturesque Padstow fishing village, a ferry ride to Rock or numerous visits to the huge number of tourist attractions for adults and children alike that North Cornwall offers.

Gastronomic experiences are plentiful with Rick Stein's pub, The Cornish Arms, a mere eight minute stroll along a walking footpath trail from the house. Many other stunning restaurants are nearby too including Jamie Oliver's Fifteen.

St Merryn village is a minute's drive away for all your local needs and Tesco in Padstow just five minutes drive from the house.

It's the location, the garden and the style of this house that makes it special and makes our visitors come back and send their friends!

The England region

Furnished to an incredibly high standard, this coastal home provides you with the perfect base to explore the spectacular North Cornish beaches, relax and unwind in the space, comfort and privacy of the house and garden itself and enjoy breathtaking sunsets.

Harlyn Bay

Tregea is in the village of Harlyn Bay, with St. Merryn a stone's throw away. The area surrounding it, only a couple of miles from the historic fishing port of Padstow, has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Five minutes walk from the house is Harlyn Bay beach. The bay is excellent for surfing, swimming and sunbathing, rock-pooling and sand-castle building. There are some fine walks along the headlands in either direction. The beach is lifeguarded throughout the Summer with a fully stocked surf shop for all your needs. There is great parking. The Harlyn Surf School is one of the best established in North Cornwall and close by, in Watergate Bay, there is the Extreme Academy which caters for kite-surfers and other extreme sport enthusiasts!

The village of St Merryn, a mere five minute walk from the house, welcomes you with the announcement "7 Bays for 7 Days". The crossroads at St Merryn is pretty much central to all the bays and amenities of the area and has shops, post office, a choice of restaurants (link to my restaurants page) and delis, a pub, takeaways (award winning fish and chips at Friar Tucks) and a garage.

Newquay Airport is a ten minute drive away from the house.

For the more active and adventurous, Harlyn and the surrounding area offers a wide range of activities including walking and cycling, the world famous Camel Trail, South West Coastal Footpath, water sports including fishing, surfing, waterskiing and sailing, and unrivalled golf on the seaside links of Trevose Golf and Country club, St Enodoc and Merlin Golf Club. Those of you who like to go-kart or shoot clay pigeons are catered for too. You can sea-fish, hire kayaks, go laser shooting or go paintballing. Click here for lots of ideas!

The Camel Trail which can be walked or cycled, follows the line of a disused railway and runs along the beautiful Camel estuary, from Padstow the 6 miles to Wadebridge, and on, for the more adventurous, another 8 miles to Bodmin. Cycle hire is available.

Further afield, there is a massive choice of attractions from the awesome Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan to the natural beauty of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, Creally Adventure Park, go-karting, Tintagel Castle, the aquarium at Newquay, Tresallyn Riding Stables - whatever your fancy, you can find it.

Quite simply, there is something for everyone!

“Half Term Family Break”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2016

Absolutely fantastic place, also catered for our two well behaved dogs, the grandchildren fell in love with the place and keep nagging to return. Looking forward to re visiting at some time in the future Would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Cornwall, the property has it all.

Thank you very much! We would love to welcome you back!

“An amazing family holiday house, garden, and location.”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2016

Tregea is a gorgeous spacious house, equipped with absolutely everything for a wonderful family holiday. It was a real home from home and each family member enjoyed cooking and serving food in the amazing kitchen making this a really relaxing and sociable venue, for dining indoors and out, relaxing indoors and out, and generally spending quality time together. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and we were helped to configure these to meet our families needs. I loved the silence of the house, and the glorious views from the upstairs bedroom windows. The sun room was glorious whatever the weather and we found ourselves gathering there often, surrounded by toys, and games when the weather was a bit unforgiving! We loved the closeness to the beach and spent many hours there in sunshine and storms, loving the Atlantic as it provided impressive powerful waves.

Many thanks to you and your family for being such lovely guests! It makes the world of difference. We hope to welcome you back soon!

“Tregea has everything you need”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2016

My family of 4 (including 6 yr old and a baby) stayed for 2 weeks at this exceptional property. The first week we had another young family with us and the second we were joined by my brother and his 6 yr old twins. Despite the abundance of children we managed to have a very relaxing time as there is so much for everyone to do at this house. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner who is a star. Fabulous location for beaches and Padstow alike, the house is very well equipped and has a huge array of toys and activities for the kids (the garage is an Aladdin's cave). If you like home comforts, acres of clean linen, a garden you can let the kids run wild in and a view that makes you open a second/third/fourth bottle, you will love Tregea. We were very sad to leave

Max, you and your gorgeous family were a pleasure to have at Tregea. Many thanks! x

“A perfect hideaway to clear the cobwebs--a home away from home!”

Tregea was the most wonderful escape from our London Life! We travelled there with 3 families over the Easter Holidays 2016. The owner has thought of everything you could possibly need for a visit to Cornwall ... wetsuits, wellies, nespresso machine, bbq, inside/outside games and toys for the younger crowd. Have to say our favourite activity was spending time in the fabulous garden and trampoline! The huge trampoline provided hours of entertainment, whilst the adults sat in the sun watching the waves crash in the bay below. Our dog loved to chase the children up and down the garden. There was even proper sized goals for a game of footie. The rainy day found all of us in cosy places around the house. 2 different living areas kept the kiddos entertained so we could read in quiet. In the evening it was fun to look out from the bedroom windows watching the sunset spread across the sky. The colours were breathtaking! Padstow, so close, 5 minutes down the road but loved escaping back to the serenity that Tregea offers. Had a fabulous meal at The Cornish Arms(Rick Stein) 10 minute walk through the fields. We have already booked for next year! :)

“Spacious home for a family vacation”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2016

A very well stocked kitchen helped us to celebrate Christmas and a huge downstairs footprint meant we could spread out to enjoy a variety of activities without getting on top of each other. The house catered well for 3 generations and we loved the extra dimension given by table tennis out in the garage during heavy winter rain. A light out there would have been helpful though. The boiler developed a fault but the property manager sent out a plumber very promptly. Great access to the beach but I hope someone creates a footpath through the fields so we don't have to walk down the very busy road in future. Massive garden and trampoline make this a great holiday stay for families.

“Top class accommodation and garden in beautiful location”

Reviewed 13 Dec 2012

A fabulous modern property fully equipped to provide comfort and luxury. We particularly appreciated the top quality bed linen. The garden is wonderful spacious, private with lovely views and plenty of space to play football, enjoy a BBQ or just chill out in the well equipped garden. The house is very accessible for old and young alike. Our group ranged from an 82 yr old to three 15 year old boys. Wonderful place for teenagers who explored the area on bicycles rented locally. The golfers enjoyed the convenience of Trevose golf course and if the golf left a lot to be desired the views compensated for that. Great beach close by where surfing lessons can be availed of. Well situated close to village and beach. If you fancy a few day trips that will engage all generations there are plenty of options our family loved the Eden project and local cider farm tour. You will be spoiled for choice in this area with restaurants.
