“Nice little cottage in beautiful surroundings”
We had a very nice stay. The friendly and helpful hosts live just beside the cottage. The cottage is small but cosy. It has a narrow flight of stairs that leads to the mezzanine bedrooms. It is probably not practical if you travel with very small children but it worked fine for our sons aged 5 and 11. The village of Questrecques is situated at a few minutes' drive from the small town of Samer where there are some restaurants, cafés, bakeries, a supermarket, etc. The location of the cottage is perfect for day trips and sightseeing. The picturesque towns of Le Touquet and Montreuil are only a short drive away. Hardelot Plage, a pretty beach town, is a 20 minutes' drive from the cottage.
“Looking for a cottage in the french countryside ? Look no further !”
We found the cottage to be clean tidy and well equipped . Friendly welcome , owners on site if help required but otherwise left alone to enjoy your own peace and quiet . Looking forward to returning next year .
“Lovely gite and lovely owners”
The gite was spotless and has all amenities for a great holiday. There's no traffic nearby so kids could play freely or you can relax in peace. The gite is very different with an upstairs arrangement that's very original Its rural location is great for peace and quiet but its within a short drive to beautiful beaches and to near by Boulogne where there's a great choice of things to do and places to eat. Mark & Collette live in the nearby Manoir and are very friendly, welcoming and bi lingual
Lovely comfortable and well equipped cottage with secluded courtyard. We very much enjoyed our stay.
“Gem in the North of France”
We arrived using the excellent directions provided on a sunny Friday afternoon. The welcome was lovely and friendly and we settled quickly after the journey down. The location of the cottage allowed us to travel to the nearby beaches at Hardelot and St Cecille as well as visit the nearby towns. The cottage was comfortable and quiet and ideal for our three children (11, 8 and 6 years old). Outside they could run around safely in the gardens. The owners were brilliant and we were made to feel at home. I would recommend the cottage for a break in Northern France
“Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area.”
I stayed in the cottage with my husband and three teenage children. We had a very enjoyable holiday in this beautiful area of France. Hardelot beach is a delight and the nearby town of Samer is very pretty. There is a very nice coastal walk from Cap Gris nez to Cap Blanc nez which offers stunning views of the coastline. The cottage is well equipped and extremely clean and comfortable, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The private courtyard is a perfect sun trap and the grounds of the Manoir are gorgeous. The owners are lovely, they were very welcoming and very helpful. We very much enjoyed meeting them and staying in their beautiful cottage.
“The best French holiday we have ever had”
If your looking for a little piece of heaven then look no further then the cottage at Manoir le Fort. The hosts are such a lovely couple, friendly & genuinely nice. The cottage has a very homely feel with everything you could possibly need and also very clean & well presented. We loved the grounds especially the pool which has its own resident Heron. The Manoir itself is a fantastic piece of history, beautifully restored - we are envious!. We have been to France many times - But this is the place we will return to knowing we will be welcome, knowing we enjoyed our stay very much indeed. Thank you Mark & Colette- you are both a credit to the hospitality & tourist industry. We will see you again.
“A delightful French experience and a relaxing holiday in a cosy country cottage!”
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage very much and especially the warm hospitality of our hosts who made us feel really at home from the start! We were given lots of useful information and enjoyed a nice chat over drinks and treats for the children at our hosts' amazing house. The cottage is lovely and cosy, comfortable, well-equipped ( fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave,BBQ,TV, Wi-Fi) and very nicely decorated, with lots of character. The surroundings are beautiful and well maintained. We were able to relax in the spacious gardens and we enjoyed the tranquillity of the countryside very much. The nearest beach is only 20 minutes away and if you like shopping in a big hypermarket, it's only 5 minutes' drive away. Manoir Le fort is very well located and we were able to do a lot of sightseeings in the neighbouring towns of le Nord Pas-de-Calais.We felt really welcome and our hosts were very friendly to us and our children. I enjoyed speaking French to the French hostess while my husband conversed in English to her English husband. Both of them are bilingual, so don't worry! The service we received was excellent! I would certainly recommend this stay to anyone, whether you come on your own or with your family. A real escape from the rat race, to quote my husband! I particularly enjoyed the beauty of the surroundings and the interior of the cottage is very inviting and charming as it is advertised on the photos.
“Perfect retreat in the countrysite and nearby the sea”
We enjoyed very much this quiet retreat with beautifull views of nearby hills. We were staying with our two children( age 16 and 18) who also liked the mixture of calmness of the country and visits to mondaine Le Touquet. We enjoyed playing golf on several nice courses in the neighbourhood. The owners are lovely people who live in a fabulous restored manor. This holiday let is very clean and well equipped.
