The South Aegean region

Make a holiday rental property or villa in Rhodes, Greece your home away from home

The Greek island of Rhodes (Rhodos or Rodos in Greek) lies in the Aegean Ocean. Rhodes is naturally stunning, so much so that is the most popular island for domestic holidays within Greece. Blessed with an amazing climate, the clear waters of the sea, powder soft sands, fascinating ancient ruins and olive strew countryside which makes up the island of Rhodes will almost certainly capture your heart and have you counting down the days until you can return to your own, private holiday rental villa in Rhodes and relax in the rays of the sun and enjoy the enviable way of life which effortlessly thrives on the island.
Things to do on holiday in Rhodes, Greece

Just being in a property in Rhodes is enough entertainment for many people. The scenery is breathtaking, the climate faultless, the cuisine exceptional and the evening entertainment in the bars, clubs and discos great fun, meaning that can have a fantastic holiday without doing anything out of the ordinary. However, with so much on offer, it would be a shame not to!

Many people take a flight to Rhodes to experience true Greek culture, and many return disappointed. Cheap holidays to Rhodes have taken over the larger resorts like Faliraki, but if you head into the interior of the island, traditional culture can still be found. It is the beaches of Rhodes which really attract visitors to property in Rhodes. The finest beaches can be found in the north and east of the island, and the crowds begin to thin as you go south of Lindos. There is no form of water sport that you cannot enjoy in Rhodes. Windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving, banana boating, deep sea fishing and water skiing are all easily arranged, as well as a whole host of other water sports.

Rhodes is an ancient island, adorned with fascinating ruins and monuments. The Colossus of Rhodes was one of the original Ancient Wonders of the World, and although there is no sign of it today, there are plenty of other monuments to the era across the island, especially in Rhodes Old Town. If you decide to go walking from a holiday rental villa in Rhodes, you will undoubtedly stumble across and ancient ruin, castle or monument.
Places to visit on holiday in Rhodes, Greece

Faliraki is an infamous destination, known for its rowdy nightlife and hedonistic lifestyle. Located on one of the biggest and best beaches in Rhodes, and absolutely filled with water sports facilities and entertainment possibilities, when the bar and beach tourists leave, Faliraki is actually a fantastic family resort, with some of the best facilities on the whole island. For all those here looking for a big night out, you will never be disappointed!

Alternatively, Pefkos is a better bet for anyone hoping to disappear for a few days into the peaceful, secluded and beautiful parts of Rhodes. Secluded but certainly not cut off, a Rhodes villa in Pefkos puts you within range of an absolutely charming sand beach, peaceful countryside and traditional restaurants.

Those looking for a good mix between a huge party resort and a quiet, traditional village, Lindos is a fantastic bet. Beautifully traditional yet lively, Lindos is one of the few places you can catch a ride on a donkey and cart down to the bay then jump on a huge, inflatable banana and be pulled around the bay by a speed boat!
Weather in Rhodes, Greece

Rhodes has the best sunshine record of any Mediterranean Island. There are over 3,000 hours of sunshine every year in Rhodes, and days where the sun doesn't shine are serious cause for discussion on the island! You would be incredibly unlucky to take a self catering property for a holiday to Rhodes, Greece and get a week of poor weather. In summer (July and August), temperatures average 27C, regularly hitting 40C in the heat of the day. Summer holidays to Rhodes can be taken from early May until late October, before average monthly temperatures dip below 20?C.

Haraki

Massari -Haraki Area

The ancient capital of Lindos and stunning St.Pauls Bay are only 10 minutes drive. Half way up the eastern coast, Malona is the perfect base from which to explore the whole island.

Less than 45 minutes in the car will find you exploring the battlements of Rhodes Town in the north, wine-tasting on the western slopes of Mount Attaviros, or watching the kite-surfers who come from all over the world to catch the waves at Prassonisi on the southern tip of the island. Also ideal as a base for hiking or cycling, a five minute walk will see you spotting honey buzzards on a quiet mountain road, or maybe just scrumping the odd orange as you wander down the olive tracks.

The village has several grill houses, tavernas, bars and mini marts, and a bakery, selling local produce, plus an English speaking pharmacist.
