This magnificent period home is one of the region's most desirable holiday homes offering the very best in self catering accommodation, set within spacious surroundings and in complete privacy.
Internally, we have made the most of the classic features, including two open fireplaces. The house offers enormous rooms with huge windows with original shutters, the kitchen has an AGA, there is a classic dining room and large sitting room with wall mounted plasma tv plus WiFi (throughout). Mixing these imaginatively with contemporary furniture and furnishings, together they make your stay at Yew Tree Farmhouse an unforgettable experience. With such space and a lovely 'feel', the house is a first choice for groups who want the very best in fine accommodation.
Externally, the house sits on the edge of the village, with its own grounds surrounding on all sides, including a large and private garden with patio and barbecue area, a paddock plus an additional barn with table-tennis and a couple of small stables. Collectively, there is ample space for families or groups of all ages to 'spread out' and feel completely relaxed.

"Picture perfect weekend away"
We had a wonderful stay at Yew Tree Farmhouse, made even better by a good spell of weather, although it's the kind of house which you would happily lock yourself away in and stay by the fire. We were all lost for words when we arrived. The location is beautiful and the house has a lovely charm which made us all feel like we at a home away from home. The house is very spacious and there isn't a single bedroom where you feel someone has drawn the short straw. The kitchen is great for preparing large feasts with an Aga, gas hob and electric oven too! There's also good supply of crockery, glasses, cookware and a much needed dishwasher. The owners were fantastic with helping us book our stay and had great recommendations for local things to do. They have their own excellent website with all the vital info. I really recommend this property for large groups and families.

"A perfect house for a country weekend."
A very comfortable house to stay in. It is well furnished without being fussy, and there is plenty of room for a large group of friends and their dogs. Once the fires are lit, it feels very homely and it,s very easy to settle in for the evening. Everyone in my group loved the house.

"Wonderful house, plenty of space, perfect location for long walks"
We booked this weekend for a birthday celebration on the first weekend in December, and the house was perfect for our four families (14 in total plus a labrador). The 6 teenagers had the top floor, with the adults enjoying the space in the lovely bedrooms. We were all able to sit down to eat together in the dining room, and chill out on the comfy sofas in front of the log fire. The kids had a ball - with table tennis in the barn, and enough nooks and crannies for a great game of sardines! From the house we were able to do lovely walks around the Cotswold countryside, with pubs on route. A fantastic weekend away!

"Perfect location, atmosphere & farmhouse!"
I booked Yew Tree farmhouse for my sister's hen weekend and there were 16 of us altogether. We spent a lot of time at the house with the log fires going in each room, and there was always enough room for everyone to chill out together. The house is absolutely stunning, the garden is huge and beautiful and my sister had the best weekend ever! (her words) I was so pleased with Fergus's assistance from the day I enquired about it to the moment we set off! So I recommend this farmhouse for Hen parties, family holidays, and couples! I will definitely be booking again - perhaps in the Summer so we can take advantage of the beautiful garden and BBQ! Thanks again for all your help Fergus & Pippa!

"True English experience in a fantastic setting."
Yew Tree Farmhouse was our HOME for 8 weeks. We had teenagers, our married children, grandchildren and friends coming and going while we were there. They all loved it. The home was spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen were all updated and great. We loved staying in the true English countryside away from London yet with access to the whole country easily. Right in the Cotswolds, close to Bath, centrally located with the Swindon Train station just 15 min. away. A truly memorable home for a once in a lifetime trip.

"A beautiful house in an amazing setting!"
I rented this property for a special birthday, with both family, friends and dogs. I couldn't have been happier with the house, it really is stunning. Everything was as it was described. The rooms are a lot bigger than expected. I had 16 in the house and it was never too crowded, everyone could have some space of their own. The kitchen is well laid out and is well stocked with kitchen ware. I found the rooms all very clean with lovely bedding and towels. It was November when i rented the property and it certainly was never cold. The outside space is great for a lot of cars and the gardens lovely. Even the full size ping pong table was put to good use. The local pub, The Jolly Tar, couldn't have been more accommodating, keeping the pub open for a late lunch for myself and friends. They also kindly found us a supplier for logs, who delivered. The Swan at Southrop is well worth a visit, the food is fantastic and a very pretty village. I found the whole experience fantastic. The owner, Fergus, couldn't have been more helpful. My friends and family all agreed with myself and said what a great place it was.

"Lovelly House, even in the cold"
Had a very good weekend stay in January 2011. Party of 9 adults, 7 children under 3. It was very cold down to -7 C at night. Was cold when we arrived and were a little worried about heating as it took a while to heat up, but when it did it was easily warm enough. Two big open fires made it very cosy. Really good big dining rooms and lounge. Kitchen large enough, large Aga to do a good roast, could do with a few more pots / pans. All bedrooms decent size. One small bedroom had an problem with fumes from the fire - but we didn't need to use it, would have been an issue if we did. No en-suits but plenty of bathrooms. Friendly and informative welcome. Decor decent without being over formal. Everybody commented how good it would be in the summer, with large garden and BBQ. Lovelly setting and beautiful building. Would recommend

"Awesome country house finished to very high standards, great stay!"
Booked this as a surprise holiday for my husbands birthday as a get together with friends and their young families. Everybody had a fantastic time. Would recommend it to any group of friends. Very spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. We booked a cater (Arise Above Catering) which came and cooked and then served us a fantastic meal, would recommend them too (http://www.ariseabove.co.uk/). Only thing I would like people to be aware of is that the 7th bedroom only has a sofa bed, is downstairs and is a through room to the downstairs toilet. This wasn't a problem for us as we only required the remaining bedrooms.

"A spacious and comfortable home from home"
We booked this lovely house for my father's 80th Birthday celebrations and we needed somewhere which could accomodate a group of friends and family in the age range 6 to 80, and a dog. Booking the property was easy; the owners are very friendly and professional and we were greeted upon arrival and shown around. Friends and family came from all over the globe (Canada and Ireland) and from various parts of the country (London, Devon, Bristol, Reading and Manchester), and this house was well situated near the M4, in the middle of rural Wiltshire. The reception rooms are beautifully spacious and well appointed. The bedrooms are comfortable, and the main bathrooms are beautiful. The kitchen is small (for the size of house) but well equiped with plenty of counter space, so cooking for a large party is easy. We had 3 children under the age of 9 with us, and did not hear them once! We booked the house for a very wet and windy weekend in February, so all we did was look for the source of the Thames, walk the dog and relax by the open fire. The house is in a very rural location, and is surrounded by pretty gardens and a stream. Popping out for a pint of milk requires a car! All in all, this is a fabulous location for a large family get together.
