“Everything you need for a great family holiday”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2015

Kate was very helpful, good directions Lavender barn was very well equipped, clean and comfortable, the pool having its own shower was a bonus, and we all loved the games room especially the pool table and the table football, it was good that the youngsters had somewhere to go to. We all walked down to the pub for Sunday lunch a very good meal in friendly atmosphere. We all had a great time.

“Most well appointed SC property we have ever stayed in”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2014

We booked for barn for a long weekend . Chosen to accommodate an extended family group of 9 ages 66 down to 2 (6 adults and 3 kids). We had a great time and I think it is the best appointed self catering house I have ever stayed in. The owners seem to have high standards for the decor, furnishings and equipment and are also very considerate of guests needs - we were able to arrange loan of the pushchair, have the beds set out as required and then to top it all when you are there little things like there being scissors or foil in the draws took so much hassle out of the trip. Having a pool and games room on site meant there was always something to do. There is also a small play area in the garden but during our visit there was a lot of rain which made it a little inaccessible and unusable. You should note that the property is in a rural location and next to a farm. A couple of our party did have trouble finding it with their sat navs. and we'd suggest that unless there have been weeks of dry before your stay you should bring appropriate attire as the lane and grounds can be a little muddy. Should you want to explore Somerset it's easy to get out and about from and if you don't then after the pool and some games the local pub is a short stroll away and offers a nice country pub atmosphere.
