Dream of having your own home in this paradise waiting for you and your family, and it’s so spacious that you can enjoy it with friends and your extended family. Your dreams are now reality as the The Grand Melemele Home is ready and waiting for you!

The Grand Melemele Home is more than a “vacation rental” it is “Your Destination”! Closest to the tiny village of Hakalau, it is located near the quaint town of Hilo, but far from “The Real World”. It’s true, the majestic 3300 sq. ft. golden (melemele) plantation-style home is ready to supply some serious relaxation, fun, and enjoyment!

There’s plenty of free parking space in the front and a separate fully-enclosed 730 sq. ft. two-car garage in the back which is connected to the home by a covered walkway. Look around and notice a sampling of what is to come: fine furnishings (especially the koa wood table), the warm trade winds, the fresh air - full of tropical scents, the lush vegetation. It’s officially “Your Vacation”! It’s your decision: Relax and enjoy, continue the journey, or not decide - that’s alright. You’ve just been touched by the aloha spirit!

It’s time to experience what The Grand Melemele Home has to offer. As you enter, you’ll realize the palatial size of this luxurious home. The great room will draw you in. There’s the sitting area complete with it’s own fireplace which will be waiting for you when you’re ready to lose yourself in your favorite book. Look ahead and see the expansive combination of your living room, dining room, and kitchen.

Quickly, you’ll notice that there’s lots of room and everyone will be able to enjoy times together and have plenty of room to have their own space. At the end of the day, the soft couch and padded chairs will pamper you as you lounge around the large screen television with cable service and a dvd player. There’s WIFI service throughout the home, and landline telephones are provided for local calls, too.

The dining set will serve as your base from which to investigate all things Hawaiian in the culinary universe: from fresh-caught fish, to locally grown exotic fruits and vegetables, to Big Island raised beef, to local favorites like lau lau, loco moco, sushi, or saimin. Whether you cook it yourself or get take-out, you’ll soon find out that everything tastes better on the Big Island!

The fabulous kitchen may become your own indoor getaway. It’s hard to miss the exquisite vented Viking range and oven and all of the space to use it. There’s even your own private big island ready for preparing, mixing, and enjoying, complete with views of the dining and living areas. So, you can follow your cooking show or the big game as you sip your famous Hawaiian coffee.

Continuing through the lower level, you’ll find the complete laundry room with a washer and dryer and the classy restroom with a shower. Forgot your toothbrush? No worries. Toiletries, towels, etc. are provided. Finally, you’ll arrive at the downstairs’ bedroom where you’ll find a comfortable queen-sized bed, complemented by closet space and more fine furniture.

Upstairs, you’ll soon notice the unique library and its views of the sparkling blue ocean. Beyond, you’ll find two more large bedrooms with queen-sized beds and more wonderful furniture. There’s air conditioning available throughout the home if you need it. Also, you’ll find a well-designed restroom with a tub and a shower.

The king-sized bed almost looks small in the enormous master bedroom, which has its own sitting area and a large walk-in closet. The elegant master bathroom is an architectural experience all its own. Outfitted with a clawfoot roll top bathtub, it’s a restroom built for two: dual sinks and adjustable dual shower heads in a gigantic tile and glass-block shower.

Follow the covered walkway, step into the lavish round mineral pool mineral that will melt your stress and re-energize your spirit! Swimming in a mineral pool is like a beauty treatment for your skin, hair, and body. Rinse off under the convenient poolside shower, relax at the patio set on the covered back lanai, and fire up the grill for dinner.

You’re really here: in Hawaii, in paradise, and at your own personal mansion! When you’re ready, head out and experience our fascinating Big Island. The famous Akaka, Rainbow and Umauma Falls are only minutes away. Honoli’i, a top surfing spot is just down the road. Galleries, shops, and museums abound in Honomu and Hilo. Don’t forget to watch for whales and dolphins. DO NOT MISS Umauma Falls & Zipline Experience! Explore the areas several beaches ready for you to do anything or nothing at all! The possibilities are endless.
