From the owner

The Carpentry Shop Cottage is a romantic Cornish farm cottage hideaway with King size bed, sumptuous slipper bath, champagne ice bucket and woodburning stove.

The Carpentry Shop Cottage is just perfect for couples and close friends celebrating a special occasion or simply for an indulgent weekend. It's also great to maintain social distancing, being 650m from the nearest public road, and with our four compass point neighbours being c. 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500m respectivly. Perfect if you wish to avoid crowds.

The large bedroom situated on the upper floor measures a spacious 5x4m into the eaves, boasts a traditional king size brass bed, incredibly comfortable mattress, goose down duvet, exquisite Irish linen and for all romantics, at the foot of the bed rests an indulgent slipper bath for two with adjoining ice bucket and stand.

There is an ensuite with his and hers wash basins, toilet and bidet.

The bedroom windows from both the bedroom and toilet overlook our grass tennis court, guest lawn, BBQ area, stable block and surrounding fields. Guests are welcome to play tennis (weather permitting), croquet and explore the farm and woodland.

The bedroom is incredibly light, with a total of four windows, two facing South, two facing North. Guests please note the bedroom has restricted headroom into the eaves and the windows are top opening roof windows.

The open plan sitting room and kitchen are located on the ground floor with the original stable door.

There are a pair of scrumptious cream leather chesterfield sofas that face the woodburning stove. The cottage can sleep four people if necessary with the sofa bed.

The wood burning stove sits in a slate hearth, providing a romantic backdrop as you relax.

There are three ground floor windows, two South facing and one West facing, flooding the room with natural light. The door is a stable type door. During warmer weather it can be nice to leave the top half open.

If requested prior to arrival we provide a courtesy dongle for Wifi. There are a wide selection of games including cards, scrabble, trivial pursuit, backgammon, chess, draughs and ludo.

Some of our guests don’t even leave the farm. You’re welcome to walk the fields (always close the gates), explore the woodland or even forage for wild mushrooms, blackberries, sloes etc.

Check out our web reviews for the “Old Cart Linney” and the "Carpentry Shop". Our consistently positive feedback from guests shows our commitment to ensuring your stay is memorable.

Interaction with guest

We meet and greet all of our guests, but we try to allow you total privacy during your stay. It’s a farm and so we’re always around if you want to speak, ask for advice on day trips or to explore the farm. There are minimum booking periods but if you want something a bit different, just ask. Maybe we’ve a few days between guests or perhaps you want to book more than one of our cottages for a family reunion?

House rules

Guests are asked to remove shoes inside the cottage.

The entire property is designated non smoking.

This is a working farm. We would be delighted to share our home, by collecting eggs or helping to feed the cows. Simply ask.

We have many web reviews both for the Carpentry Shop and the Old Cart Linney. We treat all of our guests with the utmost respect and would ask that is reciprocated. Ultimately these cottages and the safari tents are our home.

Thank you.
