Description from owner

Description

Gurnard Marsh is an area on the north shore of Isle of Wight just to the west of Cowes. It is an ideal location for many different types of visitors including families, walkers and ramblers, cyclists and dinghy sailors. It has long been a popular holiday spot with rows of beach side chalets dating back to the 1920's, but now most of the old rail carriages and timber chalets have now gone. The replacement buildings are built to today's standards but designed to be in keeping with the beach side chalets they replaced.

“Lovely house, great location, would stay again”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2016

Just back from 5 nights in Seawinds. The house is lovely, modern, well equipped and we all loved it. A really nice back garden, perfect for BBQ and kids playing, all enclosed so no worries about them being out by themselves. Great location next to the sea, it felt like we were really on holiday without lots of other tourists to negotiate. Relaxing view. We went crabbing every morning just across the road. The Little Gloster restaurant which is a stones throw away has the most amazing breakfast, so perfect way to start the day. At short notice Carl went out of his way to re-book our ferry for us, which we really appreciated! Our 2 children really loved this place and like us, are keen to return.

“Lovely stay, lovely views!”

Seawinds is a fantastic house/chalet with great views of the sea across the boat yard. There were 7 of us and the accomodation was ideal - warm and clean with enough seating for us all and a fab giant floor cushion that everyone fought over! Washing machine came in very handy for rock pool incidents and the garden was great for football and ring-toss tournaments. Nice location, we walked across the beach and eat at the Woodvale twice during our stay, lovely, homemade food and huge portions! You may need to book though as it does seem to get very busy especially at weekends. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

“Lovely accommodation and location”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2016

Seawinds is in an ideal central location for exploring the island. A great spot for evening sunsets, and my 5 year old loved searching for shells on the beach which is a minutes walk away. Seawinds is really well equipped with all you would ever need for a self catering stay. I would certainly recommend staying here.

“Fantastic holiday let in brilliant location”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2015

We had a fantastic stay at Seawinds. The accommodation is lovely and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and came with lots of bits and pieces that many self catering properties do not. The location is great, right on the beach and close to Cowes. The owners are helpful and friendly and we definitely hope to be back there soon!

“Lovely property - perfect location”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2015

We stayed at Seawinds for four nights at the end of June/beginning of July. This is a very well kept and well equipped property. The decor is contemporary and has a light and airy feel. We took along the usual bits and pieces you take to a self catering property and needed hardly any of them - a lot of thought has gone into providing everything you need - even down to a welcome pack of some local produce, tea, coffee fresh milk etc. The back garden is secluded and fully enclosed - ideal for the toddler we had with us to run around in safety. Lovely view from the front of the property across the sailing club compound to the Solent and the New Forest. Carl, the owner, lives just down the road and was very to keen to ensure we had all that we needed. A perfect few days.

“Fantastica !”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2015

“Ticked all the boxes”

“A highly recommended seaside location”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2015

Had a lovely stay at Seawinds. We loved the sea view from the stable door. It was a comfortable, well kept house, a true home from home. Highly recommended.

“Excellent Stay”

Reviewed 27 May 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the gorgeous Seawinds. Found everything we need in the house. Luckily this place had super-fast broadband as we had so many devices connected to wi-fi. Good location as well. The owner is really helpful. Would visit again.

“VIP festival experience”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2014

This is the only way to enjoy the best festival in the UK on the most beautiful island. The property is set in an idyllic setting and boasts amazing sunsets. The house has everything you need for a home from home experience. It's perfect.
