Gumusluk

Bodrum is a busy, cosmopolitan city with an exclusive big-ship harbour.Yet it retains a typical Turkish honesty and a certain laid-back tranquillity amongst the bustle. It is a lovely place to spend a day just wandering, eating & shopping. Because It is active 24 hours a day its a good place to let your hair down especially if you want to boogie till dawn & beyond.

“Nice villa, but needs refreshment!”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2013

The villa is large and a nice place, but not maintained very well. Especially the bathrooms were poor ,had dirty curtains and almost no water. Outside the cushions were in a poor state. The bedrooms had no darkening cutains, so we were awake early in the morning. IIt's a nica villa, but we wouldn't go back because of the things i said above. Ulash was wonderfull !

“Chilled out and spacious”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2012

We had a lovely honeymoon in Villa Myndos and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The local guide was fantastic, really helpful, good information and couldn’t do enough to help us. He put flowers from his garden all over the house when he found out it was our honeymoon. Booking was great with John being really helpful and sorted things out smoothly and with no hassle which was fantastic. We would agree with a lot of what the previous reviewer said although not everything. ~ Bedrooms: nice and comfortable, spotless linen & aircon units that worked perfectly and could be put on timer which was great. ~ Kitchen: was fine although I agree the kettle definitely needs replacing due to the lime scale build up (unavoidable due to the hardness of the water). We just used a pan instead so not too much trouble. ~ Bathrooms: were fine although a little tired. Towels were plentiful & spotless. We had an issue with the pressure dropping but within a day Ulas had sorted it out. ~ Lounge: really nice and spacious and comfy just as the pictures show. ~ TV: only 1 English speaking channel 'Aljazeera' the English version of the Arabic-language news network, so take DVDs! ~ Pool: spotless & well maintained. Had an issue with pressure and again Ulas came and sorted it no trouble. Hardly noticed the pool guy which was great and he came nearly everyday. ~ Pool Terrace: This was fine and we didn’t really think it was as close as the previous reviewer said. This was something which worried me but was never really a problem. ~ Sun Deck/Terrace: the pool was in shade by 6pm so this was great for later in the evening and didn’t really matter that the deck was a bit shabby, because it didn’t detract from sunbathing. ~ Getting There: we got a transfer from Ulas which was a good deal and meant we didn’t have to find it in the dark. We then hired a car from Ulas for a good competitive price. When we ran the battery down by leaving the interior light on by accident one day, Ulas turned up and sorted it out for us which was fantastic. ~ Location: great! 10 min drive into Yalikavac (quiet little town with fab restaurants). Also a big supermarket (with ATMs) and fresh bakery within walking distance from the villa and a brilliant terrace restaurant on the roof. Great fresh fish restaurants in Gumusluk 5 mins away or nightlife in turgutreis. To be honest there is as much or as little as you want All in all Villa Myndos is charming, just in need of a little TLC in places. Would we recommend it? YES WE WOULD!

“Lovely Spacious Villa”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2011

Villa Myndos is a lovely spacious holiday home in which we had a great week soaking up the sun & relaxing. Here are a few thoughts following our stay: ~ Bedrooms: basic but comfortable, with firm beds, spotless linen & aircon units that worked perfectly. ~ Kitchen: adequate although a little ‘tired’. Kettle definitely needs replacing due to the lime scale build up (unavoidable due to the hardness of the water). ~ Bathrooms: again, adequate but ‘tired’. Shower head upstairs needs replacing. Towels were plentiful & spotless. ~ Lounge: comfy. ~ TV: only 1 English speaking channel ‘Aljazeera’ the English version of the Arabic-language news network, so take DVDs! ~ Pool: spotless & well maintained. ~ Pool Terrace: was almost like sunbathing on next doors front step! This wasn’t actually an issue for us as the house was empty however if they were home & there were a few of you in the villa it may be a tad claustrophobic/’public’. Having looked again at the photos on Holiday Lettings you can see just how close the big house is to the pool side. ~ Sun Deck/Terrace: the tiled terrace was filthy & the wooden deck rickety and in need of sanding/re-staining but a perfect spot for when the pool was in shade by 6pm. ~ Getting There: we hired a car from Bodrum airport and followed the directions give by the owner & considering it was late (& dark) we found the villa with only 1 wrong turn! ~ Location: great! 10 min drive into Yalikavac (quiet little town with fab restaurants), big supermarket (with ATMs) in walking distance from the villa. All in all Villa Myndos is charming, just in need of a little TLC in places. Would we recommend it? YES WE WOULD!
