The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The South West coast of the country is one of the most spectacular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean. It offers fantastic scenery, as well as warm weather and it is astonishingly rich in historic sites.
This region of Turkey has become a gateway to world tourism, with its clean beaches, as well as its numerous resorts and many choices for entertainment.
The Bodrum peninsula has 5000 years of history, and the ancient historic sites and monuments are well worth a visit .
Gumusluk (Myndos) is the western most point on the Bodrum Peninsula and is considered to be one of the most desirable and historical areas to visit. The apartment is less than a 5 minute drive away, where Roman remains can be found beneath the sea. There are many fantastic seafood restaurants dotted along the beach where you can relax over a selection of Meze and a bottle of wine or a cold beer. A variety of water sports are also available for you to try or just relax on a sun lounger and enjoy the sun.
Turgertreis, a large marina resort and upmarket Yalikavak are only a 10 minute drive away in either direction, where you can hire a Gullet and go sailing around the beautiful coast line. Bodrum Town Centre can be reached within 25 minutes with its magnificent castle, roman ampitheatre, internationally acclaimed marina and exclusive shopping. Both Bodrum and Turgertreis have daily cruises to visit the Greek islands of Kos and Rhodes, with duty free purchases available. Each resort has its own character, market day, night-life and entertainment options, including yachting, cruising, and other water-sports.
Within easy distance of the apartment, there is a water park, golf, horseriding and the local Turkish Bath. Many of the day excusion companies will pick you up from the apartment for your added concenience should you choose not to have a hire car.
Bodrum holds numerous festivals including Bodrum Jazz Days, Bodrum Bicycle Festval, and Bodrum Diving Festival. See Gumusluk International Classical Music Festival: http://www.gumuslukfestival.org.

"Peace perfect peace"
We love this area of the peninsular with its selection of restaurants, beaches and friendly locals. There's plenty to do if you are active with a wide range of water sports available at far cheaper prices than else where in Europe. Or if you like you can simply stay at the beautifully equipped apartment and watch the ships sail by from your sunbed and enjoy the privacy of your own pool.

"Excellent views, very cosy and brand new flat"
We stayed on this apartment for a week with my husband and my parents in August 2011. The property has breathtaking views, especially at sunset. We found the flat very clean, cosy, brand new, nice decoration with all the things you would need to spend a great week with a family. It is not the largest flat you can have but a family with 2 small kids should be fine. There is a good sized shared swimming point right in front of the garden. We had the swimming pool to ourselves as the flat upstairs was empty. I don't know how it would be if the above flat had 4 kids using the pool while we were there. We were very lucky, I guess As the property is high on the hills, it never gets hot so no need to worry about the 40C you normally get in Bodrum. We hardly used the AC. It was quite windy (one night we had to have dinner inside because of the wind), but I definitely prefer that to the hot temperature down in central Bodrum You definitely need a car to stay at this property, however this is not unusual in Bodrum, apart from the Gumbet area which you should definitely avoid anyway. The road to the property was pretty bad but I am sure it will be improved Booking was very easy and effective and we didn't have any issues throughout the holiday. We just bought our own flat in an other part of Bodrum (Gundogan) but otherwise I would definitely consider staying here.

"Views Sunsets and Relaxation"
Not the easiest place to find in the dark. Royal Valley is not that well known by airport transfer drivers or locals in Gumusluk. That said once you wake up the following morning you are treated to magnificent views to sea. The apartment is a good size and well equipped. The outside patio area and comfortable sofas ensured a lot of time was spent outside enjoying the views. The supermarket is in easy walking distance if you are reasonably fit, as the area is quite hilly. The construction of the new road ( which is estimated to be completed in six months) will bring the dolmus service to the back of the property and will make the trip to and from the village/ harbour a cheap alternative to taxis for the less active. Good restaurants, friendly people, quiet location and spectacular views ensured an excellent holiday.

"A touch of Double Heaven !!10C and 10D Royal Valley"
This was our second Visit to Gumusluk this summer! I cannot expressive enough how friendly the locals are and what excellent value for money you get when eating out. You can either go to the lovely harbour restaurants or the small family run restaurants off the side of the road....either way there is something for everyone! or cook in and use the great BBQ whilst watching the sun set...bliss! Watersports at very reasonable prices and superb markets to do your shopping - food and clothes, but be prepared to bargain! Brilliant Fun ! We will be back next year
