The development is built into a hillside and there are a number of steps up to the penthouse and so it is not suitable for those with a walking disability or young children with buggies.

Internet is often available in the apartment but cannot be guaranteed. It is available in the internet cafe on site.

Location description from owner

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

Bodrum Peninsula

Horizon Sky Beach Resort is situated in the beautiful and historically protected area of 'Iasos' (pronounced ee-ya-sos) a region of Bodrum in the gulf of Gulluk.

The area has much historical and cultural significance leading to stringent laws now curbing commercial inference and property development. Horizon Sky is also located in close proximity of Bodrum International Airport, operating flights throughout the summer season.

With the summer months having an average air and sea temperature in excess of 20 degrees, and an annual average rainfall of only 22 days, only 2 days of which are between June and September.

The Mediterranean climate of Gulluk and Bodrum enjoys mild winters and warm summer weather, with highs of more than 34°C / 93°F in July and August. Bodrum's summer months are reliably sunny.

While summers can get blisteringly hot at times, particular during the hottest months of July and August, the area benefits from the cooling prevailing wind, the Meltemi, which blows refreshing crisp winds from the Aegean from May through to October.

Horizon Sky Beach Resort
Winner of the best developer in Turkey 2010 award with both OPP and Bloomberg. Horizon Sky is the first development in the Bodrum area which will eventually provide an American style clubhouse providing an extensive array of sophisticated lifestyle facilities. Complete with its own beach, the resort will incorporate 12 swimming pools, a rooftop restaurant, mini golf, a sports bar, pool bars, fitness centre, landscaped botanic gardens, relaxation zones and instant free Wi-Fi facilities.

The castle town of Bodrum can be easily reached via water taxi to Gulluk, a pretty coastal village set below a picturesque mountain backdrop. A 35min drive from Gulluk in either a taxi or the local dolomus bus will take you to Bodrum, a buzzing thriving, artisan community where tradition goes hand in hand with designer labels, jewellery and leather goods amid local street markets.

Gulluk Fishing Village

Located in Mandalya Bay on the Aegean Sea, the Turquoise Coast, Gulluk is a peaceful, quiet fishing village with an abundance of restaurants and cafes serving locally caught fish, primarily sea bass and bream. Gulluk has several supermarkets and local shops selling fresh local produce,

The free Horizon Sky private water taxi is based in the harbour and provides regular trips across the bay to the resort for all visitors. Download boat timetable.

The town of Bodrum is steeped in culture, history and tradition, offering plenty to be explored.

The Castle of the Knights of St John

After the castle in Izmir was destroyed in 1402, the Ottoman Empire granted the Knights of Rhodes to build another elsewhere.

The Knights of St. john used stone from the fallen remains of the Mausoleum and burned marble in pits to produce lime. Taking almost a century to complete, the castle remains one of the most intact relics of the era.

The Underwater Archaeology Museum

Thanks to efforts of Turkish and foreign scholars who carried out successful archaeological digs - both on land and at sea, the castle has turned into one of the greatest Underwater Archaeology museums in the world. The old Spanish Chapel now houses the famous Yassiada Wreck. The Glass Exhibition is stunning, displaying glass objects discovered at Serçe Limani and the hull of the ship. More information

The Myndos Gate

This entrance gate to Halicarnassus is thought to have been constructed in 360 BC. When Alexander the Great came to claim the city, he was unable to pass the deep, broad trench in front of the gate. When the gate was restored a couple of years ago, archaeologists found the remainders of the trench. Next to the gate there is a Turkish cemetery and some vaulted tombs from Hellenistic and Roman periods.

Turkish Cuisine

Eating out in Turkey offers infinite possibilities. In addition to those eateries offering traditional Turkish fare, one can find restaurants-a-plenty serving cuisine from all around the globe.

Local Specialities

Sampling the delights of the region's cuisine is in itself an adventure. "Must try's" include su böre?i (layers of filo pastry baked with cheese), köpo?lu (fried aubergine and yoghurt) and çiçe?i dolmasi (stuffed squash flower). For "fast food" Turkish style, the Döner ekmek (grilled lamb sliced and sandwiched in thick crust bread) and gözleme (savory pancakes) come highly recommended!

Don't forget to too sample the Turkish mint tea – thought to be one of the best ways of cooling down on a hot summer's day, and Raki – liqueur produced from anise. The latter is best consumed alongside a variety of meze.

“Stunning views in the lap of luxury”

Reviewed 29 May 2015

A romantic boat ride took us across the bay to this smart resort. We were then picked up by one of the resort vehicles, delivered to our apartment and the driver even helped us with our luggage. Nothing could have prepared us for what was the most breathtaking view we have ever seen! From floor to ceiling windows in every room and the huge terrace spanning the entire apartment, we gazed at the 180 degree view of sea and mountains. Plus, laying in bed watching the sun rise was such a treat. We were even treated to a moon rise over the sea each night. Quality and luxury are the best words to describe the apartment. There's even a jacuzzi on the terrace! The complex has two lovely pools on different levels. The staff are very attentive and helpful, most of whom speak English. Just around the corner is Jasmine Beach where we had excellent Turkish meals watching the sun set on a floating pontoon. The restaurant owner will picks you up and drops you back. The boat trip to Gulluk was such a treat and where we enjoyed more excellent waterfront restaurants and cafes. Lindsey's information folder is well researched and packed with suggested destinations. On her recommendation we particularly enjoyed visits to Torba and Myndos. Thank you Lindsey for a wonderful holiday. We will definitely be returning.

“First class accommodation with THE most stunning views.”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2014

This penthouse has been furnished to the highest of standards with everything you could need and more for a relaxing holiday in a very family friendly location. The whole area is extremely well kept with beautiful gardens and the pools are very clean in a safe family environment. The pent house itself will take your breath away with the views from the balcony out over the marina and beyond to the small fishing villages across the water. We as a family can't recommend this accommodation highly enough and will look forward to a return holiday in the near future.

“unbelievable views”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2013

Travelled to this penthouse in July . as the title suggests, the views from the penthouse are the best views I have ever had staying anywhere, if this were a hotel there would have been a huge supplement for views like this. The penthouse itself is of an extremely high standard, very light and with all the glass gives a very open feel, its was fully equipped with everything we could ever need and upon arrival was immaculately clean. Although away from any major resorts and a quite resort, both our teenagers were more than happy here with plenty to do. The resort boat goes to and from gullek all day which is an adventure in itself each time you go. In gullek there is a good range of resteraunts, ranging from little kebab hut to nice speciality fish resteraunt The owner of the property was an absolute pleasure to do business with and made the process of booking very easy. Would thoroughly recommend this penthouse to anyone visiting horizon sky and will be visiting again ourselves

“Paradise in Turkey”

Reviewed 14 May 2013

The property is on the penthouse floor with breathtaking all encompassing views of the Aegean Sea. The unit is much larger then the pictures suggest and finishings are top notch throughout. The balcony is massive spanning the entire length of the unit. There is also a hot-tub on the balcony, deck chairs, dining area and an option to cover the balcony with canopies for added shade. The property pool area has a bar and restaurant. Staff at the resort are attentive, speak english, and go out of their way to help.

“Simply Amazing!”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2012

That's the best way to describe our holiday! The pictures do not do it justice - we arrived late at night and loved the view, but did not get to appreciate it until waking up the following morning in the daylight, it was mesmorising, it just fills the entire balcony view and is absolutely beautiful! We were dropped off by our transfer car and then swiftly loaded into a horizon sky vehicle what whisked us to the apartment and the driver carried both cases up lots of steps so I was very thankful for that! (lots of steep hills and steps here) The apartment itself is stunning, well maintained and surpassed our expectations. Be warned, you will need to wear sunglasses inside the apartment as its that bright & white! A/C system is very good, cools the place down in minutes so you only need it on when you get in for a short time. The pools are lovely, there are a few dotted around the complex in addition to the main pool and they're worth checking out as you usually get one to yourself. The bar/restaurant is great, the guys can't do enough for you and the quality of food is very good, particularly dinner. The boat that takes you to Gulluk is great also, just the trip itself is very relaxing and fun. Some good restaurants and bars in Gulluk, Fuego's is lively on a weekend night, but the last boat returns at 0030 as the party gets going which is a shame. Getting to Bodrum on the Dolmus (mini bus) is cheap and easy from Gulluk. We found the beach at Horizon Sky nicer than the one in Gulluk and you can easily spend the day around the complex and not need to venture much further. Great holiday for relaxing and winding down, but perhaps a bit far away if you're looking for something lively or lots of excursions etc. All in all, an amazing time, and Lindsey (owner) is great to deal with, the whole process of booking and planning was easy and she is very helpful. We'll certainly be going back again sometime.

“Fabulous views from an amazing penthouse on a wonderful resort”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2012

This was our first visit to Turkey and we loved it! We saw it at its best. The apartment was gorgeous- spacious and modern with everything we needed for our family. Lyndsey was helpful and accomodating throughout the booking process. We thought the views were the best views we've ever had on holiday! The resort was great lots of pools to choose from and it was quiet around the apartment especially at night. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The hilight was the boat trip to and from Galluk so relaxing sitting on the top deck on cushions admiring the view. Galluk is a great place to visit and eating out was delicious and cheap! It was lovely not to have to bother with a hire car. We would love to return and explore more of the area and spend more time in such a fantastic place.

“View to die for”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2012

Our experience of Turkey and in particular the Horizon Sky resort turned out to be really positive. Fabulous weather, great vistas, friendly service and a first class apartment made our stay very memorable but it was the little touches such as the water taxi ride from Gulluck and the added advantage of a jacuzzi on the balcony as well as the hospitality of the staff that made it rather special. If you want complete relaxation in a quiet and remote, yet accessible location with all the mod cons then this is hard to beat. Highly recommended. and great value.

“First class penthouse apartment with amazing views!”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2012

We had never visited Turkey before this holiday and to be completely honest had never even considered it but having seen this penthouse advertised we decided it looked great so gave it a try and were not disappointed! The apartment is excellent - extremely clean and modern with great facilities and the views are spectacular! Although there is some building work still to be completed within the resort this cannot be seen or heard from the villa. We found the resort to be extremely peaceful and quiet. The staff at the resort were excellent. The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly, the food was great and there was always somebody on hand to answer your questions or offer you a lift to and from the boat to your apartment. We took advantage of the boat to Gulluk on several occasions which was fantastic and found some lovely local restaurants in the village where we enjoyed some local beers and watched the sun set. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others and we are already saving to visit again soon!!

“We were blown away by this '5 star' apartment - with views to die for.”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2011

We arrived on the resort by yacht - the best feery we have ever been on - what a stsrt to our week! The whole complex is newly built and lives up to the 5 star billing. There are lots of pools to chose from - or you may decide to recline in the personal jurcussi on the balcony. I would highly recommend this apaprtment and the resort. INfact we are going again in 2012.

“Relax from day one!”
