The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The Turquoise Coast and Lycia region of Turkey is home to some of its most well known resorts. Olu Deniz is famed for its blue lagoon, and the whole of the coastline is spectacular.
Marmaris is a more European style resort, but still boasts a lovely old town quarter. Quieter resorts such as Foca, Cesme and Kusadasi are all old port villages which have reinvented themselves.
For those who like nightlife and plenty to do, Fethiye and Bodrum are great for combining ancient sights and wonders with modern facilities.
The Horizon Sky Resort is located in the historically rich region of Bodrum, in the bay of Gulluk. This region is well known as ‘Iasos’ and its history dates back to 3000BC.
Although, the quintessential charm of small harbour and fishing villages such as Gulluk, has not been lost and consumed by overdevelopment.
The ancient city of Bodrum is said to be founded by Dorian settlers in Greece from around 1000BC. Since then the area has had a tempestuous period of change and different rulers.
The city came under Ottoman rule in 1522 AD Suleyman the Magnificent captured Rhodes and forced the knights to move to Malta. in 1522 AD, Ottoman rule took over. This was known as ‘Petrion’ after the Castle of St. Peter, and this became in Turkish ‘Bodrum’, the name by which the town is known today.
With its colourful history and monuments attesting to such, Bodrum exerts a lasting fascination on its multitude of visitors year on year, irrespective of age or nationality. There is so much that this region offers and is more than suitable for an interesting getaway, whether you are after culturally rich tours, busy nights out in Bodrum, a romantic evening in a cosy tavern over looking the bays from the small villages, or just a relaxing break away by the pool whilst soaking up the sunny weather. Bodrum and the surrounding areas offer it all.

We stayed in the Penthouse that was recommended to me and my family. All i can say is WOW. the apartment and facilities are incredible. Waking up to views over the sea when you open your curtains in the morning is just breathtaking. Definitely booking again for next year!

A wonderful place and very peaceful. The apartment are big, clean and bright. Good AC. You can sunbade and have a shower nude in the jacuzzi at the terrace, no insight. We did not use the beach because the apartment were so nice. Lovely wiew and panorama sunset and rise. The people at the resort was very helpfull. They drove you to and from the boat. The boat from the resort to the main land was very safe and the people onboard was very helpful. The only negative remark has to be that there are many stairs to the apartment. I would loved to be back there.

"Fantastic modern Penthouse with spectacular views"
The Penthouse is large, modern and luxurious and has amazing views of the bay of Gulluk. At night you are transfixed by the views and really feel you are in a special location. There are many walkways, swimming pools and areas of relaxation. You can either stay at the resort or take a boat to Gulluk and experience the many restaurants or use as a springboard to visit Bodrum and explore the general area. You can also take transport to local restaurants. I was with my partner and we both adored the resort and the area and felt very spoilt. The staff were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. We will definately be returning.

"Relaxing and wonderfull"
This was our first time in Turkey. We found the place by considers. We wanted to go somewhere luxery, with good service, and children friendly. We had a 5 month old baby with us as well. The service at resort was great, the staff so helpful . The apartment had a high standard, the view was amazing. I have been to many places in the world, but this place was a hidden treasure. It was so lovely waking up in the morning to absolutely no noise and falling asleep without hearing music from nightclubs. The restaurant and swimming pool had good standard. It was also easy to travel to places. We went to Gulluk and Milas / marked. Lots of fun. Gullak a nice little village. One day we went to Bodrum. We were so glad when we got back to the resort. We will defiantly visit again.
