The fantastic sunsets are a sight to behold. There is nothing better than relaxing by the pool as the sun sets over this pretty bay with the sea lapping gently to the shore. A perfect and safe location for adults and families looking to relax and unwind but with all the necessary facilities close by.

Inside the villa, there is an open plan living space on the ground floor. The marble staircase leads upstairs to the air conditioned master double bedroom with its en-suite, balcony and seating area - just perfect for enjoying your morning coffee while overlooking the pool and the beach. There are two further bedrooms, both with air conditioning, bedside lamps, twin beds and wardrobes which sleeps up to four adults. There is a shared family shower room and WC for the twin bedrooms. Bathroom towels are supplied as well as cotton bed linen. There are mosquito nets to all windows and patio doors.

Downstairs is open plan with everything you'll need for a perfect home from home holiday experience. There's a WC, washing machine, dishwasher in a laundry room, gas/electric cooker, microwave, breakfast bar (seats 4) and dining table (seats 6). The lounge area overlooks the pool and is furnished with two large white leather sofas and armchair, occasional tables with 2 up-lighters and ceiling mood lighting, an IPod charger, TV/DVD player with a selection of DVDs and books for your enjoyment whilst at the villa.

The double french doors lead outside onto the terrace which has a further dining area seating four. There is a small BBQ and six sun loungers for your private use around the poolside.

The property boundary has clear fencing as to not distract from the wonderful view with a magical night-time lighting. Beyond the gardens the public area is clean and well maintained and provides further sun loungers, a cafe, a play area for children and an outside toilet and shower area for the beach.

Just a short 5 minute stroll along the beach is a welcoming boutique hotel where you can enjoy meals and drinks. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and is set within well manicured, landscaped gardens, a pool with a sun deck and jetty to a handful of boats.

There is a local convenience store only a couple of minutes away (up some steps), where you will also find the bus stop which takes you into the village. From the village, you will be able to take other bus routes to Bodrum, Torba, Milas and beyond.

There is a nature reserve and a golf club about a 20 minute drive away which is set in a conservation area famous for it's large variety of wild birds. You can also book up and swim with dolphins within just a few miles from the villa as well as taking a boat trip to neighbouring bays from the village harbour. A variety of tours are available locally, according to your interests, but well worth looking into.

Airport transfers can be booked each way via the key holder/management company from 60 Turkish Lira, as well as a welcome pack which includes milk, butter, cheese, coffee, fresh local bread and olives.

Wifi is available subject to a local rental charge based only on personal usage.

Location description from owner

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

Gllk is a small fishing village located at the north end of the Bodrum Peninsula and is just 15 minutes from the International Bodrum Milas Airport, ten minutes from the main road to Milas (15K) and Bodrum (45k). Gllk means place of roses and that's a good introduction to this beautiful location on the Aegean Sea, known also as the Turquoise Coast.

Historically, Gulluk was an import & export harbour for Greek trading during the Ottoman Empire period.
The store buildings and warehouses are today waterside restaurants, bars and shops.

There is an abundance of fish restaurants serving locally caught sea bass and bream, cafes and eating houses. In addition there are several supermarkets, hotels, banks, cash point machines plus a multitude of local shops and a weekly open air market. The village is surrounded by hills covered with olive, fig and citrus trees overlooking the bay. The local people are friendly and welcoming and English is widely spoken.

The harbour provides a vibrant spot where fishing boats moor alongside yachts, and locals and tourists mingle along the promenade. During the evenings, Gllk harbour is closed to road traffic and people spill over into the streets and dine at open-air cafes fronting the promenade. There is a lively bar with wide screen TVs, offering a range of local beers and familiar spirits and cocktails.

The picturesque Bay of Gllk is full of small-unspoilt bays, lovely sunsets, coves and beaches and offers views over the historical site of Lassos; an ancient city founded by Greek colonists. Excursions and trips can be booked at one of the booking offices in Gllk center.

An 18-hole golf course is just 15 minutes from the village.

The winter months are mild and Gllk is also ideal for a short winter break. Bodrum town is worth a visit. It is a 40 minute drive or bus ride from the villa. As you enter the town the impressive St. Peters Castle dominates the waterside area and marina. Boat trips to the nearby islands of Kos and Rhodes run from Bodrum port.

In Bodrum town, designer shops sit alongside traditional bazaars and antiquities provide a link to the history of this fascinating area. There is a lively yacht club with live entertainment and restaurants and along the waterfront is a variety of places to eat Italian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, European and traditional Turkish as well as cafes and bars. There are car-parks if you need to park a hire car, plenty of taxis and a large indoor market twice a week. The cotton and leather goods are worth taking a look at also.

“Loved everything about this villa - will definitely be returning!”

Reviewed 30 Jan 2014

My husband and myself visited Gulluck in August and this was the perfect base for him to enjoy the local golf and fishing, while I took in the local village, beach and some lovely walks on the beach. The villa exceeded my expectations, clean and well stocked with everything we could need. The infinity pool was amazing, and having a lovely glass of wine on the terrace in the evening while gazing at the great views out to sea was just heaven! Chris was easy to deal with and quick to respond to any questions I had before our stay, making me feel totally at ease that all was fine. Hilmi picked us up from the airport and looked after us very well in turkey. I've already rebooked for this year and will definitely be a regular visitor.

“Beautiful setting, if you want to relax and unwind. Made the perfect romantic break.”

Very clean and plush villa with everything you need. View and surrounding could not be better. If you fancy a walk the main town Gulluk takes about 30 minutes to walk to, 5 minutes by car. It's great for a selection of restaurant and bars. We will definitely be going back as the locals are very friendly and the villas hold six comfortably.
