Clare's Cottage was once a cattle shed, although you wouldn't be able to tell today, except for the original exposed beams. The renovation has been carried out to a very high standard and has all the modern touches you could wish for in your holiday accommodation, including under floor heating and individual room stats.

An open plan lounge and kitchen is overflowing with charm and there is ample room for all the family. For those rainy days there is Sky TV, a selection of DVD's, books and board games. There is a wood burning stove for the chilly winter nights, when you can settle down and watch the flames flicker. French doors open out on to a sunny terrace, where seating is provided for you to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine, whatever takes your fancy.

There are two bedrooms, one off the lounge and arranged as a twin and a double at the other end of the cottage. There is a modern wet room with a large walk in shower and heated towel rail.

The cottage is children friendly and a travel cot and highchair can be provided for your stay. Although a working farm, well behaved dogs are permitted to stay too.

The beauty of staying on a working farm is that the landscape and live stock are always changing, and the owners are more than happy when time permits to share with you new additions, whether its piglets, calves, lambs or chicks, they all make your holiday a little special!

On arrival you will be shown where you can picnic, walk and enjoy the beautiful landscape and two footpaths run through the farm, so it's perfect for a walking based holiday.

A welcome pack will be awaiting your arrival, this will be seasonal and where possible, mainly sourced from the farm.

The East Sussex region

East Sussex is in the south east of England stretching along the English Channel from Rye in the east to Chichester Harbour and Emsworth in the west with many fine blue flag beaches in between.

The chalk downland of the South Downs cover a large part of Sussex from where they meet the sea at Beachy Head in East Sussex through to the Hampshire border near South Harting in the west.

Chichester is the cathedral city of Sussex and Brighton and Hove on the Sussex coast is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe. Arundel and Lewes are two historic towns within the county both have imposing castles and are popular towns to visit.

The climate enjoyed in Sussex is above the average for Great Britain, which makes it ideal for visiting throughout the year.


The village of Three Oaks has its own railway station and public house, and is in a beautiful rural location with 1066 Country Walks on your doorstep.

Rye is is about seven miles away and enjoys a colourful medieval past, with plenty to visit and pretty shops and tea rooms to enjoy. The beaches of Winchelsea Beach, Pett Level and Camber Sands, are all within a 15 - 25 minute drive. Whether you wish to explore rock pools, when the tide is out, at Pett Level or walk for miles on the sandy beach of Camber Sands, there is lots to explore from your Three Oaks base. Only 6.5 miles away by car, is the traditional seaside resort of Hastings. Here you can walk among the fishing boats or for a more cultural experience, visit the new Jerwood Gallery set amongst the old fishing huts.

Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is just a short drive away. The Nature Reserve lies within a triangle of land extending south from Rye, past Rye Harbour to the sea, westward to Winchelsea Beach and northwards along the River Brede. Renowned for its fauna and flora and as a haven for shore birds, a large part of the nature reserve is a 'Site of Special Scientific Interest'. Hastings Country Park is about 6.5 miles away and covers 267 hectares of ancient woodland, heathland and grassland, along with three miles of dramatic cliffs and coastline. These can be enjoyed whatever the season.
