1 Bedroom holiday rental self-catering self-contained cottage in Trujillos.
The cottage is now fully booked until the end of February 2016 but we have a fabulous apartment available on and off throughout the winter. You can view it here on Trip Advisor: 'Olive Grove Farmhouse Apartment' or please contact me through the Trip Advisor messaging system.
Rental of the Cottage is for 2 guests.
This is a beautifully restored traditional Andalucian farmhouse with all mod comforts.
There are amazing views, lovely surrounding countryside, great walks, local amenities and well located for sightseeing.
The living room in the cottage is a generous size and comfortable with two day beds, and a log buner for chilly days and nights in the winter. The kitchen/diner is well fitted out with crockery, cutlery and everything else you need for everyday cooking.
The double bedroom is very comfortable and has an ensuite shower-room.
The 2 day beds in the Living room can be used for extra guests at €10/night each with sharing the upstairs ensuite shower-room.
An additional small twin bedroom with a shared shower-room is available at €15/night for one person, €25/night for 2 people.
There are various terraces outside to sit out on including a covered eating area. There is a large splash pool to cool off which is vital for the hot summer days here!
Local bars still offer beer and tapas for only 1.20 euro! Local shops are 10 minutes away. The main town, Alcala La Real (15km away), offers all that a large town offers and has a significant historical castle which is well worth a visit.
Granada, where you can visit the world-famous Alhambra, is an hour away. The Mezquito at Cordoba is under 2 hours away. The coast an hour and a half. Sierra Nevada for skiing is just over the hour.
This is a great location: rural, secluded but not remote; good road access and plenty of parking; and lovely Spanish neighbours.

The Andalucia region
Andalucia is a beautiful region well known for the Moorish castles including the Alhambra Palace in Granada.
As you drive through the region of Andalucia you see beautiful white hill towns and villages set in spectacular countryside of natural beauty. The Moors were a mixed race of Berbers and Arabs that occupied Spain for over seven hundred years. They developed the most sophisticated civilization in the Middle Ages, centered in Seville , Cordoba and Granada . Every city, town and village, is a wonderful mixture of Christian and Muslim influence. Granada offers a wonderful experience of architecture, the Alhambra palace being the largest and probably the most visited building in Europe. Córdoba's old mosque, the Mezquito, has a cathedral built inside it and the spectacular remains of the ancient Moorish city. Seville boasts the most spectacular of all Gothic cathedrals and largest church in the world as well as its Moorish Alcazar.
The mountains in the Sierra Nevada and, less known, the Sierra Morena offer good trekking and skiing. There are still some beautiful beach resorts offering excellent beaches and swimming.
Olive Grove Farmhouse is part of a Cortijo of 5 houses set amongst olive groves on the outskirts of the small village of Trujillos. Views to the Sierra Morena and Sierra Nevada are spectular. There are some beautiful drives into the hills and along the valleys.
It is a very rural area but not remote. Several villages and towns are in easy reach offering bars, cafes, restaurants and historical places of interest to visit.
The area is great for walking, biking, horse riding and many other outdoor activities. Painting holidays have become very popular with wonderful landscapes to sketch and paint.
Guests frequently take day trips to Granada, Cordoba, Sierra Nevada and the beach at Salobrena.
The local Spanish are kind, friendly and helpful.
There is quite a large British community in the local town of Alcala La Real which is 15 kms from Olive Grove Farmhouse.
This is a wonderful place to come and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of rural Spain.
