Location description from owner

The East Anglia region

Grimston is a delightful picturesque rural village, the area is surrounded by gently undulating wooded countryside with unrivalled opportunities for walking and bird watching. Nearby Roydon common and Grimston warren are two of the country's outstanding birdwatching and wildlife reserves and are within easy strolling distance. Grimston itself, has all traditional amenities with the village store providing fresh fruit and vegetables and bakery products and includes post office, off licence, newspapers and lottery sales. There is an excellent family butcher and several pubs all within easy walking distance. The coastal beaches are predominately sandy with an excellent standard of cleanliness. Nearby for Sandringham craft fairs, flower show and stately home. Kings Lynn holds world famous music and literary festivals twice a year and has excellent theatres. Other stately homes nearby include Oxborough, Felbrigg, Houghton Hall and Holkham.

Grimston

Within a ten mile radius of the cottage there are many attractions, these include, Bircham Windmill, several museums and guided tours around King's Lynn; the Norfolk Lavender complex with the unique Caley Mill; Snettisham Park Farm, which gives youngsters an ideal day out feeding the animals, and enjoying the amenities there. Castle Acre and Castle Rising, each with a wealth of history.
Grimston is also situated close by to the Peddar's Way walk, and also the Weaver's Way, and Sir Peter Scott walks.

There are several narrow gauge railways in the vicinity, the nearest being the Wells to Walsingham line, ideal for a visit to historic Walsingham with its wealth of churches centred around the national shrines. Wells has lovely shops and is a typical seaside town. The kids (and many adults) love the crab fishing there. Burnham Market is an unrivalled village, often nicknamed Chelsea-by-the-sea. Special little boutique shops centred round a village green with a river winding through the centre.
